Kostya Takashi
Div. 7 - Shinigami
Appearance:
Kostya looks most like his mother than his father, taking on the appearance of a Russian. He has a gaunt, strong face which makes him look like a mean fighting machine. His eyes are a bright green, which usher a bit of relief to those who are afraid of getting pummeled. His hair is basically shaved, so he is bald with a little bit of brown hair. His face is set in a stoic mode, which will stay like that until he is made happy or sad. In that case, his mouth curls down or up accordingly. He has a five o’clock shadow which will grow into a beard unless he shaves it regularly.
Kostya is built like a football player (gridiron football, not soccer). He is a huge person. He stands at 6’1 and weights 233 lbs, which is about average for a NFL football player. (However, that has nothing to do with the Bleach Realm, just an allusion that I and others can relate to). His massive frame is due to an extremely toned and hardened body, which is the reason he is so heavy.
He wears a traditional shinigami garb, which is required among his ranks, but, because of his job, in his gigai, he wears a brown, heavy coat. Under that he wears a red t-shirt with Russian words on it, and blue jeans. Other than that, when he is covering and pretending to attend the high school, he is in the uniform they have.
History:
Human Life
Kostya was born to a Russian mother and a Japanese father in Karakura town. His mother was a nurse, his father a businessman. Kostya hated his father because he was an abusive drunkard. Kostya was often beat for doing basically nothing, and his mother fled their home, leaving him with his father. On multiple accounts, Kostya tried to run away, but was always trapped. He was barely allowed to do anything; he had to go to school, and come back immediately. However, this didn’t stop Kostya from having good friends. However, having friends didn’t go over well with his father, and he was stabbed.
Kostya, at the age of ten, decided to end it. He and his friends, at school, plotted to kill his father. However, their teacher found out about the plans, and called Kostya’s father. When he got home, he was nearly beaten to death, and he was tied up and thrown into a sack. Kostya was thrown into the river, and drowned. Kostya, as a plus, was confused. He didn’t know what to do, so he haunted his home and where his father lived. He “lived” in agony until a man in black and white performed a soul burial and took him to the soul society. His father was executed ten years later.
Soul
Kostya entered the soul society at the age of ten. His entrance to the Rukongai was bumpy, but he had made it. He was extremely confused, but eventually, he learned about where he was and what happened. The most confusing part of this all was a contradiction of his beliefs. He, at the time of his childhood, had believed in Orthodox Christianity, so this affected him greatly. He set off to think and meditate about this new world for many years. The strange pressures that were pushed upon him by the men and women and black and white were strange. Kostya didn’t know what to do in the society, either. He spent most of his time pacing back and forth up a familiar street. He became extremely depressed because of how boring the afterlife was.
Soon, though, he started to exercise. This released his endorphins (hormones that make you happy), and he became extremely happy whenever he worked out. Whenever he ran, whenever he was pushing/pulling, whenever he was climbing, he was extremely happy. He made a goal of trying to climb to the top of every building in his district, and was well known for it. His exercising did two things which changed his life. One, he worked up an outrageous spiritual pressure. He didn’t feel so suffocated by the men and women in black and white (which he learned were called soul reapers). Two, he got physically fit in the process. Nothing wrong with abs.
After a while, after achieving his goal of climbing buildings, he had a new goal. He wanted to become a shinigami. To do this, everybody must graduate from the Soul Reaper Academy. Kostya went to the academy and tried to get in. They were impressed with his spiritual energy, but he was not able to do any feats with it. Thus, rejected, he had to try and grow his reiatsu and do feats with it.
The Academy
Kostya tried to get better at controlling his reiatsu, but he didn’t know how to do anything with it. During a course of one year, Kostya tried to do things with his spiritual energy. He didn’t seem to be making any progress. However, that didn’t stop him from applying again. He was about to be rejected, but then Kostya asked a question.
“What happens when a soul becomes hungry?”
Kostya was questioned on whether or not he was hungry, which he was, meaning that he must of used up spiritual energy doing something. Therefore, he was accepted into the academy. Kostya, at the academy, excelled at agility and sword fighting, but that was about it. He was poor at kido, and he couldn’t fist fight. He continued to progress, however, and became a promising prospect for the Gotei 13. He graduated after six years, and tried to get into a squad. Although he was good, he wasn’t good enough. Therefor, he had to spend a while training. After what seemed like forever, he was finally accepted into the Gotei 13 with an unseated position. He was accepted into the 7th squad, which was full of overwhelming joy for him. They gave him a special job of managing soul burials in Karakura Town, so he went there to go undercover and be a soul reaper.

Appearance:
His blade is a bright white, a curved katana about four feet in length. There are about six red lines near the hilt, and a chrome hilt and guard. There is a handgrip which is white leather. There is a narrow ridge that runs along the fuller and tang. Like most katanas, it does not have a pummel. The only difference between this blade and the one shown above is that the hilt has diamonds in the shape of Ursa Major. It is about five feet in length making for a really long katana. It’s strapped to Kostya’s left hip due to the fact that he is right-handed.
Manifestation:
Shirokuma is a wise, old polar bear. He is patient, yet reflects Kostya’s fierce personality when pushed or when in battle. Shirokuma often gives friendly advice to his wielder, and they really get along together. He is about six feet long and five feet tall with snow white fur. His massive frame represents that of Kostya, and his intimidation is massive. Shirokuma has a deep, cracked voice that booms through his inner world.
Inner World:
A desolate wasteland of arctic tundra, the inner world in which Shirokuma resides reflects Kostya’s cold and hard past. The temperatures are rarely above freezing, and the tall mountains loom over the frozen plains, sucking the sunlight out of the world. Shirokuma wanders around in this area. The landscape resembles that of Siberia, where Kostya grew up as a child. There are no other lifeforms in the inner world except Shirokuma, who wanders around the barren landscape. Almost no vegitation goes here, and there is not sign of man-made construction for miles and miles.

Kostya is able to manipulate the speed of air molecules with his reaitsu, giving him the ability to make the air extremely cold. At this level, he is able to hold the air temperature at a steady 32 degrees Fahrenheit for five turns. Water in the air begins to freeze over, and enemy movements are slowed due to the cold. For every level above Five, the time he is able to hold this ability increases by one. This ability affects anyone within a 35m radius.
7Shikai: Reign of Ice
Kostya is able to manipulate the speed of air molecules with his reaitsu, giving him the ability to make the air extremely cold. At this level, he is able to hold the air temperature at a steady 25 degrees Fahrenheit for seven turns. Water in the air begins to freeze over, and enemy movements are slowed due to the cold. Ice begins to grow on the enemies weapons and bodies, causing them to become chilled. For every level above Seven, the time he is able to hold this ability increases by one. This ability affects anyone within a 50m radius.

Type: Destruction Art.
Description: The user gathers reiatsu into their fingertips, holding their hands out to the sides with fingers outstretched. The user then points both of their hands forward, all fingers extended. Twenty needles of red reiatsu, two from each finger, will spring forward from the user’s hands, each one doing minor impaling damage and as a whole seeking to deal a wide variety of stabbing wounds to the target.
Incantation: Ten pillars, two spires, glow red in the white echoes of moonlight. Twist in shadow cut the heart of temperance free from the ocean floor! Ye lord, look upon us! Hado no Juunana: Akasenshi Hari!

Description: The user extends their hand, and begins the chant for the technique. As the user chants the incantation, a large amount of wind quickly swirls around the user's hand, forming a square shape around the user's hand. As the incantation finishes, a blue light completely envelops the user's hand, and the square formation around the hand will then rapidly extend outwards. With gale-force winds being released in a straight line around the size of a square meter from the square formation around the user's hand, the caster will attempt to strike the opponent with the wind force to deal crushing damage to them.
Incantation: Storm, powerful, demanding; gather in heaven and descend upon us mortals. Rear your head, and unleash your wrath! Hado no Nana: Kosharashi!

Description: As the user begins the incantation, a speck of blue light will appear upon their index finger. Tracing this light in the shape of a raven, the user will continue to chant the spell. As the user finishes the incantation, they will have traced a number of small raven forms within the air, which are illuminated with the same blue light. After the incantation is finished, the user will call out the name of the spell, activating it. Each drawn raven will burst into life with a potent electrical current. These ravens will then dart quickly towards the opponent, attempting to strike them. Depending upon the number of ravens that have been drawn, the user can create a warning shot with no harm with a singular raven, to an incredibly damaging attack with a swarm of electrical ravens. The average drawn raven will be no larger than an inch in height or width, although larger ravens can be drawn to create a more powerful attack, at the expense of additional energy.
