Pleasures, eh? It's ironic, really. The whole point of this stuff is for enjoyment, but i feel nothing. They take the trust, always take the trust. Once that's done, they're nothing. Nothing but meat and cash. I can't complain, really. I need the money. It would be nice to feel something... oh shut the fuck up. Like i need an inner monologue.
I thought cynically to myself, sensible shoes treading lightly amongst the cracks in the pavement. Drunken slobs leered at me from street corners, their stale odours and wanton glances making me shiver in delight. I slid one teasing hand down my side, tugging slightly on my skirt, hitching it up another few inches, much to their enjoyment. I could barely suppress a giggle, it was too easy, really it was.
"Hey, sweet thing, you're looking lonely!" A man called from the doorway of some tacky club. He looked about forty, maybe? He was balding, at any rate, but his suit looked rather expensive... "Lonely? Who, me? Oh, maybe a little... I wouldn't want to trouble you for your company though..." I called back sweetly, skirt rising another inch. He was practically drooling, it was embarassing.
He stumbled towards me, cigarette hanging from his lips, and bottle held loosely at his side. "Aren't you a fine little girl..." He murmured appreciatively, hands itching to touch my flesh. I smiled sardonically, before reaching into his shirt pocket, where i could see a packet of cigarettes. A good quality brand too. Slipping one free from the packet, i slid the rest of them into my own pocket, his eyes barely noticing. "Uhm, you got a light~?" I questioned, cigarette positioned seductively between my lips, still a little sticky from the recent application of gloss. He rummaged eagerly in his pockets, before producing a lighter, and handing it to me with sweaty, shaking hands.
Flicking the flame into life, i sucked deeply on the end of the cigarette, the bright fire in such a dark night illuminating just how young i really was, regardless of composure and make-up. Cigarette lit, i pocketed the lighter, and allowed the smoke to trickle out of my mouth, curving around my lips and wreathing my face. "Hey, thanks honey." I said, turning on my heel and walking away from the man. He stood there behind me, his expression aghast at the loss of such a prize. One hand waving lazily over my shoulder, i continued to walk away. Not him. No, not him.

There was a certain air about the place as, something only noticeable to the foreign body that would walk through every so often. One couldn't put their finger on it at first, it wasn't a smell, sound, or taste - it was a feeling. Thermidor wasn't yet immune to the feeling even after being through here several times. Often he'd take detours around the area even if it was the quickest way. When he reflected on the feeling he could only describe it as ghastly, there was no other place in the town closer to hell, no other place in town where sin reigned.
He had felt something else on this fair stroll however, it was different from the normal pervasive ghastly feeling the area gave about. It was familiar, something he had encountered before. It was reiatsu pouring out from some individual, one which held the faint signature of a human - an advent human, This would be the third he'd encounter, truly showing Karakura Town's exceptional talent of creating them.
With every step down the dim-lit streets eyes seemed to peer out at him, beings of all types watching him, seemingly stripping him of any internal construction, rendering his mental barriers against the new and odd void. It was for this reason that it was a task to continue on, though he did so, moving toward the feeling of reiatsu while making sure to conceal his own. Pimps and whores of the like attempted to solicit him as he walked, only to get a dismissive wave. How ironic would it be for this person to be amongst their ranks.

I couldn't help sigh as i stopped. I just wasn't feeling tonight. Plenty of rich looking suckers, desperate for a taste, but... Oh, come one! Just pick one, bang 'em and make off with their wallet. Their wallet and a sense of accomplishment. Well, maybe not. I mean - hmm? Oooh...
As i stood in the middle of the scabby street, cigarette leaving dark, whispy trails in the dim light, i caught site of something, or rather, someone. The hell? What's someone like that doing around here? Plastering on my best smile, i headed towards him, hips swaying slightly, my prostitute walk, as i fondly named it. "Hey, you, skinny with the white hair!" I called, a little obnoxiously, thinking about it. Drawing closer, i stopped, dark eyes roving up and down his frame. Intriguing. "You lost, sweetie? This doesn't seem like your kinda neighbourhood..." I questioned, one hand on my hip, the other holding the cigarette.
He did look a little odd, actually. Undoubtedly attractive, although lacking the muscles i usually... what am i thinking, i don't have a type! As long as they're male... hell, even that's barely important. I continued smiling at the boy, although only with my lips. My eyes hadn't smiled in... well, i don't know if they've ever smiled. I mean, can eyes even smile? People say they can but...

Irony. The shout had alerted him somewhat, he needing to both pivot and turn to face her from his previous position. To say she wasn't attractive would be a lie, his eyes rolling over her frame quickly. However, it was to be noted that he could tell without all this flair - makeup, obnoxious shoes, and tacky outfit, she would definitely be much more attractive. She had her game face on, Thermidor was good at reading people, it was a sort of hobby to guess what the person was thinking.
"What am I doing here?" He said, reading into what she was thinking. "Well, I'm definitely not lost. In fact, I was looking just for you."
His weight shifted, as his hand extended forth his index finger poking at her nose. "You're still developing, huh? Can't sense me?"

What the hell? No, really, what the hell?!
"Looking for me? I guess you found me then, so - hey!" Whatever i had been planning to say was interrupted when he prodded my nose. Developing? Sense him? Ohh, he must be on drugs. Duh. "Look, buster, i don't know what kinda fix you just had, but you're messing with the wrong girl." I said coldly, taking one last comforting draw from the cigarette in my hand before tossing the end to the ground. Any thoughts of a night with someone who still had all their hair, and who didn't sweat profusely just imagining touching me, were banished from my mind at his wierd behaviour.
I crossed my arms, leaning towards him as i did so, until my face was just inches from his own. One shapely eyebrow raised, i batted my long eyelashes, staring intently into his eyes. Beautiful, i suppose. But still wierd. "Actually, i can sense something. Sense that you're a fucking wierdo." I said callously, before closing the gap between us and pecking him on the lips. With that, i retreated and turned my back on him, waving a hand lazily over my shoulder.
"Now beat it, i'm busy." I said carelessly, tossing my hair as if i wasn't rattled by the encounter. Which i wasn't, of course. I mean, this town is full of wierdos.

As he had expected, she had taken it wrong - she wasn't the first person to take to the direct approach this way. With a sigh, licking his lips as he did so, in an attempt to savior her taste, his hand extended toward her turned back. It was time to do something drastic and perhaps show her, make her believe, but first a brief chat.
"I know you have noticed something odd about yourself. The world doesn't look quite the same, all the things that go bump in the night seem to be watching you. Everything feels different. I know - I've been there."
He began walking, following her almost, as his hand shifted upward.
"Well, this will be quicker."
There was a divine light that emanated from his hand, latent spirit particles from the air siphoning to his will. The focal point shined radiantly before it began to gain an outline and eventually became physical, becoming a gun. He waved it aimlessly.
"I'm crazy?"

He was still talking! The... the world doesn't look the same? What a stupid... of course the world looks the same to me! A big heap of nothing, full of losers and.... Things that go bump in the night? Well, that's just dumb. It's not like i hear things like that. I mean, really. This whole thing was - hmm? Did he have a torch with him?
Whirling around, i witnessed his hand, sparkling away like crazy. Mouth slightly agape, i simply watched as it became a gun. "Okay, what the hell?" Was all i could ask. And suddenly, vividly, i remembered. The day my dad had died, devoured by that creature! The man who had shown up, his charismatic smile, this boy possessed the same, strange allure. Could he be right? Was there something... different about me?
"You better explain right now, or i swear, i'll mess you up!" I threatened, although i knew myself that it was laughable, in such a situation. It made me feel more in control. Just a bit.

"Nothing is going on, sweety. Nothing you aren't aware of."
The light returned for a brief moment as he closed his hand into a fist, the gun returning to the air from whence it came, turning back into nothing more than latent spirit particles. His hand extended for her to take it to lead her elsewhere, or rather to move on - he still didn't like this place.
"You're a special girl, you just haven't undergone enlightenment, haven't embraced it yourself. When you do, things will change evermore."
Their spectacle had already begun to draw in a crowd of people, people beginning to move in on the pair to see what was going on. With all their shouting and his light phenomenon the residents had become enchanted by the possibility of anything at all interesting happen. It really wasn't a good position should something go wrong - such as a wayward hollow deciding to drop in.

His hand... was i supposed to take it? Tch, special. Like i hadn't heard that before. Admittedly, it was usually from the fat lips of some breathless businessman, or a jealous and sarcastic hooker who's client i had stolen. At any rate, i wasn't convinced. Stuff like this, it was just crap. People aren't special. None of them. Not this freak with the sparkly gun, or the bunch of whores surrounding us, and especially not me.
"Come with you, and what happens? I fuck you in some alley? You mug me? I've got no money, if that's what you're after." I said bitterly, arms wrapped tightly about myself as if i were resisting the urge to take his slender hand. "I mean really, you want me to embrace enlightenment? Who do you think you are? Freaking Buddah? I don't know if you've noticed, but i'm no monk." I said, eyes cold and hard as i stared at the boy.
Oh, for fuck sakes. I should go with him. I mean, i have nothing to lose, nobody could argue that. But, all this shit about being special, it really pisses me off. I'm worth nothing, i've always known that. Not to be angsty or anything, i mean, i don't hate myself. I'm just not that great a human being, is all.
If he turns and walks away, i don't know how i'll feel.
If i go with him, i don't know what'll happen.
How many other girls has he taken in with these grand words and pretty lightshow? Don't get me wrong, it's not like i care, but i hate being a sucker. I make suckers of people everyday, but not me.
"You must be some kinda freak to think i'm special, but fuck it. I'm with you." I said finally, stepping towards him, and slipping my hand into his. "Take me somewhere that isn't shit. And if you're gonna disappear, at least pay up before you do..." And with that, i surrendered. Surrendered to whatever this bizarre boy planned to do. Like it even mattered, really.

[Enter]
The fabric of reality torn asunder; a portal to a realm of dancing shadows opening its jaw to allow passage or escape from the world between dimensions. Taking his first steps from behind the veil of darkness, a creature cloaked in black floated gently to the ground below; his spiritual presence emanating forth upon his foot touching the earth. Portal closing behind him, Animus laid eyes upon the pair a couple of meters from him and instantly recognized the man who stood within the distance. Simultaneously as he entered the human world, his Pesquisa — the equivalent of the Shinigami's ability to sense spiritual presences, reacted to the energy emitting from both beings. The first being recognized almost instantly for this was the third time he felt such an energy while the other was odd, unlike anything he felt before.
Three times, that was the number of times Animus had run into this gun totting human, who for the love of anything would not reveal his race; his identity. Animus had no knowledge of either types of human, though the spiritual energy emitting from the female seemed akin to a Shinigami but almost completely different. Right hand rising from behind the veil of black concealing his body, long thin bladed fingers pointed toward the human male; eyes keeping watch on both. "We really must stop meeting like this, human. And it would seem you have yet another woman by your side." [/i] It was odd for a hollow to say anything besides words of deceit, and here Animus attempted to strike up a conversation. Ever since his transformation into this Gillian form, his mind averted from the norm of the hollow. Possessing more will than previous, his mind increasingly thought less like a monster and more like a human. Just what was happening to this creature of the dead?[/blockquote][/font]

" You aren't the first wayward human I've met, so just take my hand and lets--" He was interrupted before he could finish by an almost striking pain, his body tensing up like an almost auto-immune reaction.
As the fabric of reality tore open there was a reverberation of reiatsu not dissimilar to one he had experienced before. His facial expression dramatically changed as his mind wrapped itself around the thought of who it was. There was only one hollow that had this kind of reiatsu, only one being who could have shaken him up. However, it was his duty to be courageous in the face of hollows, and protect the people. He had no time for being frightened even internally.
"It's you again." He'd shout, moving in front of the girl, knowing she could not possibly survive a single hit from the gillian.
His head tilted as it made it's observation, his hands being thrown up in the air as he shrugged for added emotion into his rebuttal.
"Oh? Me with more women? What about that Shinigami you captured, or the second one I heard about? You've been busy, buddy."
Thermidor hadn't taken the time to notice how irrational it was to be talking to the Gillian until the conversation had began and his portion finished. He shook his head at himself as his hand extended upwards hand perpendicular to the ground palm up, willing latent spiritual particles into his hand.
"Why am I talking to you anyway?"

So, i guess - oh my god. Oh my fucking god. What the hell is that?!
"You know this monster? Like, i mean, people have some wierd friends these days, but WHAT THE FUCK." I said, my voice rising as i went on. Seriously, it was the scariest thing i'd ever seen. And i've seen the insides of a fifty year old man's pants, who just happens to have body hair issues and an unpleasant sexual condition. At any rate, i didn't have a problem with him positioning himself in front of me. Rather him than me, you know?
They really did seem to know each other though. Oh, and i was so right about those other girls. What an obvious player. My 'guardian' retorted with something about 'shinigami', or whatever. Maybe that was a really insulting insult to a freaky monster? I sure as hell don't know. Then he pulled that wierd shiny light act again. This was my chance to see it in action, hooray.
I took a few steps backwards, deciding whether or not to run. Obviously, it was the smart chance, and it wasn't like anything was keeping me here, really. Except the promise of 'enlightenment'. But the boy seemed confident, so maybe he could handle this. I couldn't handle this though, that was for sure. I mean, sure, i was pretty much an expert martial artist, but would something like that even feel me punching it? Regardless, i wasn't too keen on getting close enough to find out. For now, i'd just stand behind mystery man, wondering what the hell was happening to my life.

"Why are you talking to me?" [/i] I repeated to myself just to clarify the question, letting it sink in before an avid laugh bellowed from me. I wondered if this human even understood the situation he was in; not to mention this being the third time we had encountered one another. Surely understood the position he was in and if he did not, then he was more foolish than many humans and their thoughts of omnipotence. Ceasing my laughter, lanky fingers pointed over to the human female standing behind the mystery human; an avid sensation racing through my body as my mind imagined consuming such a tasty morsel. Not just her soul, but a beautiful body brought that much more pleasure to my state of mind, a strange bonus to my already twisted mind. "You and I have met thrice. We are familiar with each others abilities; we can tell that our powers are of the same level. But did you really think I could not tell? Do you really think I cannot detect the meager amount of power exuding from her? Can you really fight the way you want protecting her and yourself from danger?"[/i] A strangely desirous tone within my voice; only the most astute of readers would be able to tell. I possessed no ill will towards either of them, and I had yet to attempt at taking their lives yet something was building within. My hollow mindset wanted her, yearned to enthrall her entire being in his grasp. Whether such actions would surface laid behind a veil of calmness, my calmness keeping the real monster at bay but for how long would I last? If provoked, could I really prevent myself from just outright killing this woman or perhaps even worse; far worse than just devouring her being, ravish being the closest thing possible. This being only one of the many events that could follow this conversation — there being many choices they could choose from besides a battle. No matter how much a Hollow is defined as an enemy of mankind or how much one may hates Hollows, they must think logically. Irrational thoughts and actions only lead to fates worse than the original or possibly the cruelest fate of all; the end.[/blockquote][/font]

"Tch." Was the only sound that emanated from his mouth toward the hollow he had met thrice - the monster had a point. It was because of the former spectacle that had made with the woman that a crowd had gathered, and protecting both the crowd and the Advent Human would be a chore that likely wouldn't fair well. Not to mention a badly placed shot could result in an accidental death of an onlooker by him. No, this wasn't a good situation at all.
He drew his hand back momentarily, at least until he could think of a resolution to the situation. So, for now he would humor the hollow with conversation, not understanding the hollow's reasoning for even wishing to be spoken to - though remembering the hollow whom had believed so sincerely that he was human still. Perhaps the being wished to cling to some remnant of humanity by having such idle banter.
"So what do you want, Hollow? Of all the places you could have popped up you chose here -- by me. Surely you know dying by my hand doesn't mean salvation, everything you are will be lost. And by god. . " A pause, ". . . You're doing good to provoke me."
Out of the corner of his eye he noticed the slow dispersing of the people. Thermidor had forgotten almost that normal people could not see the hollow, and he was talking to it. There was a spectacle before with him and the woman, but now he just looked crazy talking and exclaiming to nothingness. The latter didn't seem to hold the people's attention as much.
"Hey girl." He whispered in the girl's direction still not knowing her proper name, "We're going to run soon."

I could hardly do a thing but stare during their exchange. I mean, were they going to kill each other or not? Was that what they were supposed to do? I could tell the giant freak in the mask wasn't a 'good guy', or whatever you wanted to call them, but i mean, so could the rest of the world and their mothers. Actually, could they? The people around us didn't seem phased by his appearance... how could they ignore such a monstrosity? It was almost as if... they couldn't see it! Was this what the boy meant by 'seeing the world differently'? Well great. Blessed with the ability to see monsters that nobody else can see. I'm sure as hell grateful for that.
Enough sarcastic thoughts though! This really wasn't the time. When they seemed to be done talking, my protector whispered instructions to me. Run. That's his big plan? Don't get me wrong, i'm totally down with that, but still. I'd have prefered something like, 'go hide over there while i kill him with relative ease', but i s'pose it wasn't to be. "Gotcha, i'm good at running. Comes in handy when i piss people off." I whispered back, taking another hesitant step away from the monster. My leg muscles were as tense as they'd ever been, itching to escape from such a bizarre situation. Would he just let us run away though? God, i hope so.
Tossing my hair out of habit, rather than actual need, i continued staring at the monster with narrowed eyes. He almost looked human. Almost. Minus the whole crazy mask, and that wierd hole in his chest, and the freaking blades sticking out of his arms, and you know, the whole twenty feet tall thing. Scratch that then, he really didn't look human. Anyway! Enough description, it was really time to run!

"Provoke you? I have done no such thing." [/i] Acting like I was completely oblivious to the fact that the threat I made a few moments ago, warranted enough provocation for him to be pissed. Though it was not my intent to do so; it was a justified response to such words of conjectural hostility. Retracting my arm as it served its main purpose, pointing, I contemplated the words of the human male; his tone of explaining what would happen to my soul should I die by his hands. I, of course, assumed this as nothing more than a meager threat; an attempt to even the playing field, so to speak. For the odds stacked against this human male, his obligation to protect the humans of this world forced his actions in my favor. Though I wonder how long that would last and within moments, I discovered the answer to that question. Bright yellow oculus keeping a close eye upon the pair, a distinct movement gave way to my hypothesis of what was about to occur. Spoken words from afar disallowed my ears to hear what was being spoken but almost immediately after the male's lips ceased movement, the female proceeded to take a step back. I could only assume so much from such little detail; though the choices were clearly obvious at this time. There were only two reasons why the female would need to take a step back; one, the human male wanted some distance between himself and her as he prepared for battle; or two, they were planning on running. Whichever the option may be, I could not allow such defiance to go unpunished — no matter how small it may be. Standing only a couple of meters away from the pair, seven to be exact, a movement likely too fast for the woman to see placed me directly behind her. The human male would probably be able to discern my movement but his reaction delayed due to the slight distance between himself and her; as well as her position behind him. A single finger already on the move, there was no real danger within my attack; for someone of the human males caliber at least. I did not understand the limits of the human body but I assumed this attack would not kill her — immediately. Using the back side of my finger, I aimed to strike the female from above, aiming for her left arm. I only hoped this would not kill her; I did not wish to kill her, yet. 1/17 Sonido [/blockquote][/font]

"Damn, not yet!" He'd yell as she moved, stepping back some before he had given the signal for her to do so. In her defense, he hadn't told her how soon was soon. Nevertheless, Thermidor knew all too well that her singular movement would provoke the monster. Like a lion seeing the fear in the eyes of the prey and pouncing right as it falters the gillian would disappear. Thermidor's trained eyes watched the monster disappear from sight, and knew instantly where he was going. There was only one open area large enough to accommodate the monster and it was located next to the woman, newly opened up because of fleeting bystanders.
The monster's speed was unmatched, his own not nearly enough to counter it's attack in time. All he could do was summon forth spiritual particles from the air and thrust the same hand toward the spot where it was likely he'd attack due to his height, somewhere high on her body. There was no telling if his gun would manifest in time.

They were still talking, and - where'd he go?!
With a loud cry from the man in front of me, i suddenly felt a rush of... energy, well, not quite like energy, but something flow through me. My hands grew hot as it happened, and before i knew it, everything was pink. Well, that's an exaggeration, but the air around me sure as hell was glittering pink, and i swore i could see random cherry blossoms dancing around me.
Well, this was new.
This wierd occurence didn't last for long though, as the shimmering pink around me suddenly shattered, and i whirled around to see the monster right behind me. It looked like he had struck me, but something had stopped his blow. I couldn't help scream a little, which i don't usually do, but you know, extreme circumstances and all that, before leaping back away from the monster, past the strange white-haired boy.
"Hurry up and kill it! Just do something!" I cried, adopting a fighting position, which might have been a bit pointless, thinking about it. Strike descending upon the fragile human girl, I completely expected my finger to strike her — likely knocking her unconscious; but just when my attack was but moments away from connecting, something occurred. Something would deflect my attack, causing my finger to to bounce back preventing any damage to come to the female. Completely confused as to what had just occurred, I looked over to the Quincy who had so frantically attempted to prevent an attack from hitting the girl. Seeing his manifestation of the gun, I could already tell that it was not he who had deferred my attack. Looking back to the finger that had failed to cause any damage, I stared at it with confusion; flexing the finger back and forth, I was simply dumbfounded. I had not expected something like this to occur.
"Is this thing broken? [/i] Referring to my finger, I for some odd reason thought the finger had malfunctioned — as if it were some type of machine. Thinking back to the instant my attack was deflected, I was able to faintly remember a shield forming around the female woman; flower petals appearing for just a second. That moment, it hit me and made me seem so utterly dumb as I looked over to the human girl after her distancing herself from me. I had sensed she possessed a unique form of reiatsu but never before had I seen a human with such a power; I had never seen a human with any power besides the human male. His power however, felt completely different compared to hers. It seemed there was much I did not understand about this world; I still had much to learn about this reality. Looking to the Quincy, a thought hit me — one I hoped would help clear this situation a bit, though I doubted after my actions, they would not be hostile. "Err, so . . . can't we just forget that ever happened?"[/i] I did not wish to fight for curiosity got the best of me. I wished to question the Quincy as I doubted he was here by just mere coincidence; or perhaps it was coincidence and I was just thinking too much into it. Either way, I figured he possessed some information on what the female human was.[/blockquote][/font]

There was an odd look about Thermidor's face as he watched the blunt-edged finger come into contact with the girl and miraculously be deflected. He thought, in some minuscule fraction of time, he felt an odd reiatsu come from her and at the same time an almost impossibly thin shield come about her. It was an odd thing indeed -- both the feeling and sight of the shield only lasting a fleeting moment. Whatever was the case, she had been spared from what could have torn off an arm.
He reacted quickly as he saw the attack fail and his handgun formed, his posture dropping some as he expelled a large amount of reiatsu into one long Hirenkyaku. The length of his arm formed a hook of sorts, as he calculated precisely into his Hirenkyaku being able to sweep the girl up in his arm. As he did so he angled himself upward, and again expelled an Hirenkyaku, and another which allowed him to seemingly stand on the surface of the air holding the girl in his arms.
"I'm not quite sure what happened, but we got lucky."
The monster's comical words didn't hit his ears for moments after he had already begun gathering the reiatsu to exit the area, his head shaking. Looking back on it just as they began to move, he thought - could that be her power?
