Neo Quincey Powers:
Level: Medium
Description: Staring at one use for a period of two posts, this technique temporarily improves the capability of the user's whip. Their general control over the whip increases greatly, both through physical and reiatsu use, allowing even further feats with the weapon. While this technique is in use it allows more improbably things to be possible in relation to the weapon, such as keeping it perfectly stiff and solid, with the same kind of durability as a sword, or temporarily increasing its length to twice its size while cutting its strength and durability in half. When this technique is activated, it takes a moment to complete, as spirit particles from all around must condense into the whip.
Restrictions: Anyone with a whip may use. For every 2 ranks gained this technique gains an additional usage, and the duration of this technique increases by one post. There must be at least one post of cool-down time between usages.
[li]Schlitz Schlagen (Crack the Whip) Capacity: 7 'very high' blasts
Level: Low - Very High
Description: Using this skill, a Quincy will focus their reiatsu into their weapon, drawing reiyoku into it from the surrounding area. As the reiyoku builds, the Quincy will condense it into a singular point, usually at the tip of the weapon. When the whip is cracked the gathered spirit particles are explosively released, forced out in a dangerous blast. This blast is small, but highly condensed due to the large volume of reiyoku gathered. A single fluid strike with the whip is all that is needed to perform this technique, which includes all parts from gathering and focusing the spirit particles to releasing the blast as the whip is cracked.
The power level of this technique and its blast radius are controlled by how much reiatsu is used, but the blast cannot normally exceed 3 feet in radius, and can never exceed a power level of "Very High".
The user may choose to spend a full round (6 seconds) in preparation before using this attack. In doing so they cannot attack with the weapon, but must use the time to focus more and more spirit particles into the weapon. If this is done properly, the resulting attack's power will be increased by one rank, and the explosion radius doubled (Maximum would be a 'Very High' blast with a 6 foot radius). When preparation is used, the rank increase is not factored into the limit (if it was boosted to a "Very High" blast, you would only take away one "High" blast usage away from the limit.)
Limit: Must be a Quincy using a weapon that can be 'cracked' like a whip. Cannot attack with the weapon during times of preparation. Power level can never exceed 'Very High". This power is highly dependent upon a Quincy's reiatsu reserves to focus the spirit particles, and so can only be used a certain amount of times per thread. It can be used an amount of times adding up to 1 'Very High' blast, +1 for every rank obtained.
[/li][li]1 Quincy Power unused
[/li][li]Reiiro (Soul Forge)
Level: Moderate
Description: The most basic of all Quincey Abilities, it is still one that takes some getting used to. Available to all Quincey, this technique actually does three specific things. The first is a type of attunement towards a specific type of weapon. These can range from swords, whips, bows, axes, picks; basically, take your pick of one weapon. The second ability is the ability to absorb Reiryoku, or Spirit Power, from the atmosphere. This capability is greatly enhanced in places of highly condensed Reiryoku, such as Soul Society or Hueco Mundo. Finally, Reiiro grants the user the capability of rapidly condensing the Reiryoku into Reiatsu, which is then used as fuel to perform Reibuki, Neo Quincey Powers, or Gintō spells.
Restrictions: Must be a Neo Quincey.
[/li][li]Reibuki (Spirit Weapon)
Level: Moderate
Description: The penultimate technique of the Neo Quincey. Gone are the days when Quincey needed a weapon base and then simply manipulating their Reiatsu into those weapons. In these days, the art of the Quincey has progressed to a heightened stage, so that they can formulate a weapon based entirely out of their Reiatsu. When the ability is first obtained, they may formulate a singular weapon. As the user obtains more Reibuki Manipulations, the user is capable of creating differing forms of the weapon, although it must stick within the theme of the Reiiro (So, for example, if the user was using swords, the first manipulation could be a broad sword and the second one would be a two-handed sword, etc.)
Restrictions: Must be a Neo Quincey.[/li][/ul]
Gintō Spells
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Height: 6”
Weight: 180 lbs
Appearance:
Head:
Naka has long locks of dark red hair that flows from beneath a wide-brimmed black hat. This hat is trimmed in a stylish manner with golden cord. The structure of his face is characterized by sharp, elongated features, accumulating in a pointed jawline and chin, with a small, auburn goatee. What little of his face that can be seen is rather plain, and even his dark blue eyes are hardly noticed. Some would say that his face would be one that you might not even remember, for it lacks identifying features.
Upper Body:
A thick tunic covers Naka’s upper body, the long sleeves extending down to white gloves shielding his hands. This tunic is made of strong black fabric trimmed with gold. This gold is actually pieces of quite thin metal inlay-ed with gold leaf. The metal is thicker on the ends of the sleeves and over the shoulders but remains fairly thin. A golden metal belt is clasped loosely over the tunic at the waist, and the black coat tails extend down below it significantly. On the upper left side of the coat, almost on the front of the shoulder, lies a symbol. This symbol is that of an ancient and forgotten order, belonging to the Quincy Knights of old. His foster father had worn the very same uniform back in the day, and when Naka began to excel in the ways of the Quincy he passed it down the line. Now Naka wears it with pride, counting himself among the few remaining warriors from that order.
Lower Body:
Non-descript black pants cover his legs all the way down to black loafers. Despite appearances, these shoes are designed for comfort and stability during combat, and have served him well. Unlike the rest of his uniform, his pants and shoes are plainly black, and remain without the gold characterizing the rest of the uniform. In areas of little light this portion of his body would likely seem to disappear altogether, fading into the background.
History:
Childhood:
Well, my name is Naka. I’ve never known any other name, no first or last name really. People have been calling me Naka for as long as I can remember, so I guess that’s my name. I was nothing more than an orphan running around on the streets for up until I was 7, maybe 8. At least that’s about what I can remember. Anyways, at some point around that time I got caught stealing from a sidewalk vendor. Real bummer. I got tossed into our version of Juvie Hall for a bit, and then maybe a year or two later some old guy decided to become my ‘foster father’ or something like that. I had to move with him, going to live in a little town called Karakura. He made me go to school, learn to read and write and stuff. It was kind of a pain, but I guess I’m better for it after all. Anyways, after a while I actually began to enjoy life living inside a home rather then on the streets, and realized just how grateful I should be to Mr. Yumi. And over time I began to respect and even love the guy.
Teenage Years:
I was 12 years old when it happened. Weirdest experience of my life, let me tell you. I was just walking home from school one day, minding my own business, when all of a sudden this freakin’ monster appeared out of nowhere. It was really quite terrifying. Probably the first and only time I have actually been so scared that I was unable to move. Literally petrified with fear. I can safely say I have never felt anything quite like that fear. The thing was as tall as a one-story building with white skin and a grotesque mask thing where it’s face should have been. A yawning maw opened in his face, and as a long tentacle-like appendage slithered through the air and over the ground towards me, I came to the realization that I was about to be eaten. I opened my mouth to scream in a most unmanly fashion, but nothing came out. It was almost like I had no breath to scream with. Just when the tentacle seemed like it was about to grab me, I was temporarily blinded by a bright flash of yellow light. In a eruption of blood the appendage was abruptly severed from the body, and it flopped around on the ground for a few moments before somehow dissolving before my very eyes. I took this in via my peripheral vision though, because something else was occupying my attention. Of all people to be there at that time, it was my foster father, old Mr. Yumi. But this was not the Mr. Yumi I knew, but a strange man, a warrior dressed in a black tunic laced with gold. And this warrior carried not one, but two great battle-axes. They were impressive in both size and appearance, grand blades adorning the sides of each axe. Golden light flashed again as he swung both axes together. I was able to keep my sight just enough to see blades of light extend forth from the axeheads, both bisecting the creature before us. As it too dissolved into the air, I felt consciousness slipping away from me. The last thing I remember was seeing Yumi’s weapons dissolve in the same manner as he ran to me.
When I woke up a couple of days later, Mr. Yumi questioned me greatly about that time. I was able to remember things in clear detail, as I have related here, and so before long he knew everything there was to know. It was obvious to him that I was special somehow, because I had been able to freely see the demon spirit. However it was not clear until some time later what legacy I held. It was several years before I was able to ask Yumi about that time, to request an explanation for his appearance and actions. And so it was that I learned of the spirit realm. The history lessons went on for many days, teaching me of the Shinigami and Hollows, as well as the fabled Quincy, which was a title Mr. Yumi shared. Over time I learned more and more about the Quincy, and after gaining so much knowledge I yearned to learn how to utilize reiyoku as Yumi had. However it was some time before he relented and began to teach me the ways of the Quincy. Over time and with his teachings I progressed through the basics, learning how to create my very own weapon, in a form that suited me specifically. I began to train with that weapon, and my combat skills grew.
Adult Life:
When I reached 21 years of age I moved into the world, now on my own. Besides joining the work force as a skilled craftsman of all things having to do with string, thread, wire, etc, I also moonlighted in my spare time as a hunter of Hollow. Utilizing my unique set of skills I helped protect my little town from the threat of demon spirits
Rank: 6
Specialties:
Bukido Master
Sumido Specialist [16 Hirenkyaku]
Wears the Sanrei Glove - Dual Wielding (Same Reibuki)
Reiiro: Constructions made from rope/string/wire
Reibuki Manipulations:
- Bull Whip (1)
Default appearance is 12 feet long, looks to be made of plaited leather. Appearance and size can be freely modified based on the situation. However, these modifications must be done as the whip is created. (i.e. I cannot cause the whip to grow in length in the midst of an attack, but must dispel it and create another of a different length.) Because this whip is intricately connected to Naka's reiatsu, it can be controlled to a much greater extent than should be possible with a normal whip. Although there is no sharp tip or anything at the end of the whip, the speed at which it is used transforms that tiny point of hardened leather into a deadly weapon, capable of slicing and piercing as good as any sword. Its durability might surprise some, as it cannot be cut normally like just any whip. This whip is created using the spirit particles in the air around it, and is significantly stronger that it appears. - Wire Whip (2)
This Reibuki is constructed out of a length of mono-filament wire attached to a hard leather handle, basically a whip made out of super thin wire. Condensing and fashioning the spirit particles in a highly dense and dangerous manner, this super-thin wire is made to be about a millimeter thick. The default length is about 12 feet long, but appearance and size can be freely modified based on the situation. However, these modifications must be done as the whip is created.
This whip is almost three times as powerful (strength, durability) as Naka's original Reibuki due to having the same amount of spirit particles in a much smaller area. Because the wire is so thin, every portion of it is capable of cutting like a razor. The disadvantage is that although piercing capability is actually improved, piercing damage is greatly decreased because the tip is so much smaller, leaving only a tiny hole. The wire is essentially invisible because of how thin it is, just glimmering as light reflects off it. It is very dangerous for others, but because it is made out of Naka's reiatsu, it is incapable of damaging him. The wire can be manipulated just like a whip and by subtle movements of Naka's hands. It is also controlled to an extent by Naka's reiatsu, allowing it to achieve feats not normally possible. This level of control is reliant pretty heavily upon Naka's skill with the weapon.
