Though it was night, it still never failed to amaze me at how complicated the Human world was. So much was different between our worlds, a place that I could almost remember... I shook my head. It was confusing to think about the past that sometimes seemed to jump out at me and then to otherwise vanish from me completely, as if it were to have never existed. Sighing, I'd continue my patrol. It wasn't often that a member of the 2nd Division was placed within the Human World, but my fukutaichou thought it might be good training for me in the future.
Needless to say, I was bored out of my skull. What point was there to practicing stealth in a realm where nobody could see you anyways? I could always practice Shunpo, but I'd need to save my strength in case I ran into a Hollow... something that was apparently fairly common within the Human Realm. I'd only encountered a singular Hollow before in my life, and it always astounded me at the number that were killed only to realize that there were still billions more to be slain.
Biting my lip, I'd then let out a sigh again, for the third time this night. It seemed to be a night for disappointments all around, I guess. Shaking my head, then, I'd continue running, eventually finding myself near the Karakura High School. A sudden yearning filled my body, and I reached out, and I could almost see... No... As my vision blurred momentarily, I'd drop to my knees and then begin to breath heavily. What in the world was going on with me...?

As the moon shine brightly in the sky, Sepia was scouring the city for her prey, her most favorite of souls to feed upon, a sinner. As if the sky was simply made of invisible floors, she made her way across the sky, her thirst clam but still wanting. It was a cold night though she could not feel it at all, that be because she could not feel anything what so ever. She was what she is, something inhuman, she was a Hollow and hollow within. Across the midnight sky she traversed, her worries nonexistent for she had grown, grown since her last encounter with any enemy.
What seemed to be a night of peace and simple feeding did not go as planned as something consumed her body. The feeling, the smell and savory taste of a powerful soul, one she had felt before in the past, a Shinigami. However, there felt something odd about this one, it possessed something more within, something akin to herself. Lowering her altitude, she combed the city from above, wishing to pinpoint this being, the one which drew her in. As the time passed, what seemed like hours was but seconds before she felt the Reiatsu of this one. Fluctuating as it was, it was close and odd as it was.
Changing from from the Reiatsu of a Shinigami to something more akin to Sepia herself, it was indeed intriguing. Making he way closer, it was moment before she lay her eyes upon that which drew her in, the form of a woman seemingly on her knee's in pain or such. Within her Iron Maiden shell, she was not the most comforting site, nor was her real form in anyway. Even so, she drew closer as her distance came to about 10 meters away from this most interesting of souls. Metal double doors opening slowly, its sounds creaking upon rather unstable hinges, out from the confines and darkness came Sepia.
Her flowing green hair, expressionless mask possessing only eyes and no mouth, her golden yellow eyes lay upon this specimen. Her form, that of a young girl no more than 5 or 6 years old, chains wrapping each of her limbs, 13 in all. 2 on each limb, 2 around her neck and 3 wrapped around her body, blood seeping from the wounds created by small spikes protruding from the main part of the chains. Though it was not the most comforting of sights, Sepia was simply kind hearted and innocent making her way towards the unknown female. Her hand placed upon the shoulder once within reach, a consoling hand wishing to help if she may.
"Okay or no okay?"
If this woman should look up, she might notice the small girls head leaning slightly to the left, as if she was somewhat confused and curious as to what was going on.

It was in my moment of misery that I felt the presence of someone else that was not myself. Clutching my skull for the moment, I'd then quickly move my arms away from my head, standing to turn and face the new creature that came. And what was it, besides the most unique creature that I'd ever lain my eyes upon? Feeling my jaw beginning to go slack, I found myself face to face with a giant Iron Maiden, the medieval torture device that had been used to kill thousands... there was only one thing that was different about it. It had a mask... a Hollow mask. Gulping, I instinctively took a step back as fear ran through my body.
The doors began to creak, and then move forward, opening to reveal a tiny girl on the inside of it. This was even more strange; the girl, bound by chains all around her body, looked no older than a human child of perhaps five or six, with emerald green hair that fell past her shoulders, and startling yellow eyes. She, too, was equipped with a Hollow mask, one that gave her no mouth, and one that made her innocence twist into something dark and malevolent. However, strangely enough, for all that I'd been taught about Hollows, I sensed no killing intent inside of this creature, only... concern?
"Okay or no okay?" The girl asked, with her hand outstretched towards mine. My eyes widened... the thing could speak? But Hollows... they were mindless animals, meant to be nothing but hunted! Once more, a sudden fear struck my body, and I fell towards the ground. I could almost recall... almost... The image of a psychotic woman, dressed in white, with the remnants of a mask, who ran her hand through my body for no other reason than she could... but those weren't my memories... I mean, I don't recall that happening, that couldn't have been me... why was this happening to me?
Letting out a shriek, I'd proclaim, "Not okay!" and the sobbing would begin. At least now, this pain within my soul would vanish. Certainly the Hollow would be merciful and end it all for me now that I had no chance to defend myself.

It was so sudden the shriek this woman let echo out into the world, so sudden it made Sepia fall on her bottom. She had no idea what emotions were, but she felt she had known them long ago. Lately she began to feel something more, something a hollow should not be feeling at all. Something warm slowly creep its way from her cold core, it was something . . . human. As this woman seemed defenseless, there was a urge to kill within but something held it back. No, not something but someone, Sepia herself was restraining the urge.
She never had any desire to kill humans or feast upon their souls, she simply punished those who sinned, those who take pleasure from killing others. It was her desire, her wish to hunt those which hurt others. It is simply something not hollow-like but more human-like, something never seen in a hollow before. Raising herself from off her bottom and back to her feet, Sepia wished to console this woman. However she was simply too small, it was something she could not do nor could she hug someone as her chains damaged anyone who got too close.
As she had done before, her right foot raised as if attempting to climb some stairs. As her foot was settled down, it stopped in mid-air before her other leg raised and stepped upon what seemed like invisible stairs. It was the only way someone of her size could get around or reach higher places, when she did not wish to use her chains. As she rose, it was only when she was within reach of the unknown woman's head did she raise her right hand. Reaching forth, she placed it upon the woman's head, rubbing it in a rather consoling manner. Though her skin cold and dead-like, she tried her best to help this woman who she did not know.
There was no clear reason as to why Sepia did this, she just simply had a desire inside to do so. Never before did she act this way towards anyone else and she had no idea why she did so now. Either way, she did not fight her desires to perform such actions. She allowed it to guide her which was odd in itself.
"Don't cry."
Though she never spoke in a clear manner, Sepia did have the knowledge of speech though it was not extremely advanced but it was close enough. Unseen behind her mask, a small smile made its way upon her face.

What in the world was going on?! I was being comforted... by a Hollow? Through my tears, my shock registered and caused a renewed burst of sorrow. What was the world coming to, that Hollows would come to comfort the Shinigami within their times of turmoil? It was impossible to say for certain, but something clearly resonated within both of our souls, and after a while, I would find that my tears had stopped and that I definitely was feeling better than I had before. Gulping, I'd then glance up to the strange creature that had stopped, and I wondered briefly what was supposed to have been going on.
Standing up to my full height, which wasn't that impressive, to be honest, I'd then attempt to take a true look at the woman hollow that had approached me. She looked honest and trustworthy, and she certainly hadn't attempted to take advantage of my moment of weakness. Did that mean that I could actually believe in what she said? Cautiously, I'd extend my hand towards hers in a gesture of good-will. There couldn't be any harm in seeing how far this friendship could go, was there?
Well, absolutely not. Besides, I liked the idea of finally having found a true friend.

Sepia did not know why such actions emanated forth from her body but all she knew is it felt nice. As the unknown woman raised herself from the ground which she sat, Sepia lowered herself from her invisible box of which she stood. Slowly flowing back down towards the ground, her petite form lands soundly upon the ground. With a lifting of her head, she faces the woman who now stands before her. Possessing a height greater than hers, a movement is noticed from the corner of her eyes. A hand from this unknown entity slowly creeping its way forth toward Sepia. Sensing no ill intent from this person, she answers in kind.
Her own hand, though a bit more grotesque due to the flow of blood emitting from the wounds the chains give her, is extended forth as well. Though not at a quick pace but one matching the unknown persons. She did not wish to do anything rash and sudden to scare her off nor did she want to be too friendly at this time. For she knew not which this woman is nor did she truly possess the ability to trust as of yet. But something within her told her this was indeed the correct choice to this situation and that any other actions are highly not recommended. When her hand has fully touched the unknown woman's, only then will her voice emit forth.
"Sepia."
It was but a single word, one telling of her name which she uses. A name she did not remember ever gaining but would use none the less. Hopefully, she would be able to befriend this person, if such a thing is even possible. Seeing as how this woman is a Shinigami, it was highly unlikely but that energy from before told a different story. A more monstrous side to her human side.

A smile filled my face. This was certainly interesting, then. As the Hollow woman extended her blood-covered hand, a pang of guilt would fill me. Here I was, sobbing over something so pitiful, when this creature was beaten, bruised, and bloody. It was then that I realized where she had come from; the torture machine behind her was a part of her body, and she was usually trapped on its' insides. How idiotic was I, to think that my sorrows were anything in comparison to what this creature must have faced?
As she took my hand, she spoke again. It was only a single word, but I caught the full meaning of it. "Sepia... that's a beautiful name. I am Datenshi." The word, meaning Fallen Angel, seems to have been my curse, and I found myself suddenly feeling quite sick. Resisting the urge to bite my lip, I'd then look back down to the girl's arm. "Let me see your arm, please." While I certainly wasn't a member of the Fourth Division, I knew the basics of Chiyute; perhaps I could do something for the creature that was obviously in pain.
Channeling my reiatsu, I'd watch as the hand suddenly filled with green light. It was a difficult thing, to keep such energy flowing, and after just a few moments, I knew that I could do no more. Practically panting from the effort, I looked to see if the work had done anything. While it wasn't a lot, it did appear as if one of the wounds had at least closed slightly. Perhaps that would give the girl some comfort. She certainly deserved it for the wonderful things that she had done towards me.
With that done, I'd look back into the girl's eyes. "So, Sepia, what are you doing here? How is it that you've come to be my redeemer even though you represent the darkest and most evil of souls, the Hollow?"

As her hand held the woman's, her mind went over the name 'Datenshi'. It was not the fact that she did not like the name but Sepia simply had a habit of giving people nicknames using variations of their actual name. As her mind wandered over the name, the unexpected light of reiatsu startled her a bit. She had no idea what Datenshi was try to do but none the less allowed the events to transpire. As the light consumed her arm, she felt less discomfort within the damaged area's of her arm. Sepia had never before seen magic capable of healing a person so this was simply amazing to her. Though it was not able to completely heal the wounds, it did help to ease some of the pain which she has felt for hundreds of years.
After the healing of her arm, she raised her free hand up to her face where she placed her index finger onto the bottom part of her mask. The rest of her hand clench into a fist as she began to shift the position of her head, leaning to the right and then towards the left. Her actions reminiscent of young girls who are try to concentrate on a certain subject they are thinking of. For a few moments she would do this, ignoring Datenshi's questions for the time being. Only after thinking for what was about a second or two, suddenly her hand is moved away from her face and now pointing at Datenshi.
"Da-Neechan!"
It was a nickname she came up for Datenshi, even if she did not like it, Sepia would still call her that. As if almost it knew, the Iron Maiden coffin which Sepia was attached to via the chains dissipated like most hollows would when entering the realm between worlds. Her chains now free to move and seemingly protruding from simply thin air as of now. Though if one looked closely, they could see a black aura surrounding the end of each chain not connect to Sepia. It is the same black aura which emits forth from the gate between here and the Hollow world, Hueco Mundo.
With the naming of her new friend, Sepia began to skip gracefully around Datenshi and giggling at the same time. Her voice sounding as if she is truly having fun, which in this case she is. Skipping around Datenshi happily, it took her a few moments to realize she had not answered the other questions directed at her. Suddenly stopping in front of Datenshi, she turned with her right hand pointing at Datenshi. Her left hand placed on her waist in the form of a fist, her right hand suddenly waving slightly as if trying to imitate an authority figure.
"Sepia is not just a hollow! Sepia is a Royal Hollow. And I can do what I want to."
As if it was a completely different person, Sepia's personality changed with a full 180. She was no longer this rather zombie like person but now more like an actual little girl. The giving of a nickname to another is the point of breaking the ice with another person. If you receive a nickname, Sepia has considered you a friend.
"And I could ask you the same thing Da-Neechan. Why are you here? HUH!?"

As I watched the engagement partaking in the merry skipping, I found myself wryly amused by the antics of this Hollow. She seemed more of a child; she certainly held an air of innocence about her that belied her appearance, with the massive amount of chains and the torture device that she had come out of. Raising my eyebrows at the sudden gaining of what appeared to be a nickname, I'd find myself smiling, just a little bit. When the girl began to explain about herself, I felt my eyebrows raise. A Royal Hollow? Hollows had a ruling class? This was certainly new information to my ears.
"I'm here because it's the job of a Shinigami to patrol the real world, to watch for Hollows who are engaged in the killing or devouring of human souls. I don't really like the job, though, to be honest. I've never relished the thought of destroying anyone or anything. It's just what's expected of me in my position." With the words out of my mouth, I'd continue to watch the girl, in case she would turn aggressive at the sound of that I was a Shinigami. Perhaps she hadn't been aware? In her state of innocence, anything was possible. Hopefully, my new friend wouldn't turn on me.

Sepia had duly taken note of anything Datenshi had said, mainly because she did not want to upset her new friend. As much as a friend she could be, Sepia did not really care what she was in truth. All she really cared was if this woman would play with her as she had been bored for quite a while now, her mind contemplating on what to do. She did not want to spend the rest of the day simply standing about randomly, talking about what they were or what their problems were. Her ways to avoiding any dwelling of the past consisted of playing games which kept the person busy, which almost every game did.
The mentioning of Datenshi being a Shinigami did not phase Sepia in the least as she had already known this from the start. Having encountered two Shinigami when she ventured forth into Soul Society, she was more than aware of how a Shinigami's Reiatsu felt. From the moment she felt Datenshi's Reiatsu, she knew but still a slight interest within her did still exist. The odd inconsistency of Datenshi's Reiatsu before did bother her a bit as the consistency of the energy was disrupted at certain intervals. The energy which had disrupted her Reiatsu was not of the Shinigami kind but something more akin to Sepia herself. Whatever it was, she would put that fact aside and go onto more pressing matters.
"Da-Neechan, wanna come play with me?"
A slight giggle escaping her lips as she waited patiently for a response. Though she had no idea where they would go if Datenshi did agree to play with her. She was unfamiliar with this area and did not know of any fun spots where they could partake in some festivities.
"Mmm, where should we go? I don't know any fun places around here."
Her head scanning the area as if she could see what was behind the buildings which blocked her view and into the distance. In which case she did not have such ability and was simply looking around for any signs of something enjoyable.

"Wanna come play with me?" The words startled me; how old was this creature? Shaking my head, I corrected myself, realizing that it wasn't fair to consider Sepia to be a 'creature' anymore. She was Sepia, clearly a girl, and young at heart. Realizing that I'd shaken my head, though, I'd speak.
"Sure, Sepia, I'd adore to play with you." With the words out of my mouth, I'd watch for the girl's reaction. It seemed, though, that the girl had been anticipating my reaction, and as such, she quickly asked where we should go, her head moving around from right to left. Unfortunately, I was also very unfamiliar with the area. Moving my right hand towards my forehead, I'd then begin to scratch, clearly a sign of thought bubbling within my mind and my attempt at concentrating upon it.
"I'm not really sure where we should go. I'm not too knowledgeable about this area just yet. Today was actually my first patrol in this sector of the world." I, too, was now looking around from right to left. "Do you want to just go for a walk for now and see if we can find something more fun to do?" Letting the words hang there for a moment, I'd wait for Sepia's reaction. I found myself growing much more fond of the girl. I hoped that we remained close and good friends. A smile touched my face.
