Ranks are obtained on this site by simply posting inside of threads. We want to create a rewarding system that focuses heavily on actual roleplay and interaction between the characters on the site. There is no set minimum amounts of posts that are needed inside of a thread, but don't expect to enter into a thread and just make four measly posts and expect to have us accept your rank up.
In order to obtain a new Rank, one must have be within a number of threads equivalent to the Rank in which they are current attempting to achieve. That does not mean simultaneously, but rather a number of threads, one after another. So, if I was Rank 0, looking to obtain Rank 1, I would need to have been in one thread. Then, in order to get Rank 2, I would need to be in two additional threads. There are no requirements for 'combat' or 'non-combat' threads. Instead, any thread will count towards your character's development. However, as we want characters to move realistically based upon their roleplay experiences, even if you're at a higher rank, if you've experienced less combat than other individuals, they're going to be the better contestant. Please remember that.
Different types of characters (Shinigami, Hollow, Vaizard, Human, Quincey) each gain their own specialized abilities and skillsets through ranking up, so you should make sure that you look at their specific bonuses for ranking up and make your judgments and adjustments accordingly. For more information regarding a specific race, please check their specific threads.
