Appearance:
Rangiku's attire is a captains uniform of the Gotei 13. His hair is a light purple, straight in nature and of average length. His face is slender, and his eyes are a light brown with a yellow tint. His white and black kimono is worn over his black long shirt, which covers his entire body. A white sash is tied around his waist line, which also conceals his Zanpakutou. On his feet are tobi socks and straw sandals. Rangiku's appearance is not defined by his clothing, but by his numerous expressions and sarcastic tone.

Not much is known of Rangiku's past life, as he likes to keep it this way. He was born into a world of chaos, and death was the only escape...
Soul Society: [/i] [/color]
Rangiku is no ordinary soul, as a child, he was raised in the 71st district of the Rukongai. At the young age of 7, Rangiku was taken in by a clan called the Goryo, or Vengeful Spirits of the Dead. The group was ruthless, and cold-hearted. They took in young souls, teaching them how to fight and steal. If they survived, they were accepted into the Goryo. Their primary function was ordered chaos, at the hands of the higher ups. They were corrupt, and blood thirsty.
As Rangiku grew, so did his understanding of his blood stained lifestyle. He bare witness to countless murders, and took part in many. At the age of 15, Rangiku found his appetite to be increasingly demanding. He was unaware of the amount of reiatsu he had within him. The leader of the Goryo was a man by the name of Kyokotsu Gaishi. He grew particularly fond of Rangiku, and was also aware of his strong reiatsu. He took it upon himself to keep watch over Rangiku and train him to be the clans successor. However, Kyokotsu was no kind man. His temper was short, and his rage grand. On many occasions, he came close to killing Rangiku.
Rangiku quickly grew famous in the 71st district of the Rukongai. His reputation of a cold blooded killer sent chills down the residents spine. Even the clan members were fearful of him, as well as envious. Kyokotsu even began to grow fearful of Rangiku. He quickly rose to power at a young age, causing hatred and jealousy to sprout. At the age of 18, he became more powerful than Kyokotsu, and every other clan member. His unrivaled abilities made Rangiku a demon amongst souls.
Rangiku was aware of the fear and jealousy the clan members had towards him. He was to clouded in his own hate and rage to care for the thoughts of weak individuals. His demeanor was very sarcastic, and he had a mocking sense of politeness to him. He had no deviations of right and wrong, and was more likely to speak lies than truth. Rangiku began carrying out his own agendas, with out regards towards the clan. He would even ignore orders given to him by Kyokotsu. He received no consequences for his actions, for there was none who would stand up to him.
A few years passed, and the hot headed Rangiku's reputation spread past the 71st district. Bounties were accumulating for his head, and attempts were made on his life on a daily basis. Rangiku did not fear death, he welcomed any to try there luck. Rangiku began to wipe out rival clans of the Goryo, eliminating any threats towards the clan. He was always content with the way he lived, not bothered by the fear he instilled in others.
However Rangiku's enjoyment of the malignant life he led came to end on a cold night at the age of 21. Once more an attempt on his life was made. This time, it was the Goryo clan and Kyokotsu himself. Their decision was motivated by jealousy and fear. They decided it was best for the clan to remove Rangiku from the equasion. As Rangiku sliced threw his own clan members, his expression never changed. He was smiling threw the whole ordeal, even when Kyokotsu fell, his teacher and guardian. He killed every last member of the clan, and denounced his affiliation with the Goryo.
He was now alone in this world, he traveled the districts of the Rukongai searching for a belonging. His only comfort became the sound of steel clashing. He was born into death, it surrounded him and defined who he was. He would pick fights with any one, just to attain the thrill of battle again. It was ecstasy to him, it became his way of life.
Rukongai decided it was time he applied his power and put it to use. He longed to once again belong to something, and prove his worth. He knew about Seireitei and the Gotei 13, and took it upon himself to become a Shinigami. For he knew there, he could truly test his abilities, and grow to be even stronger than he was now.

The Byakurai, the sword of White Lightning, is an elegant blade 5 feet in length. The unreleased form of the Byakurai is a simple white Zanpakutou, with a white hilt.
Released
The Byakurai when released takes on an entirely unique form. The center of the metal takes on a shade of black, bordered by a white color where it comes to a triangle point at the tip. The hilt of the Byakurai is a horned crest, with the eye of the Bengal tiger directly in the middle. Above the hilt, is the White Diamond that represents the Lightning Goddess Byakurai. The handle is wrapped in white leather, and comes to a diamond point at the end. The blade it self constantly lets out a surge of electricity, that envelopes Byakurai.
Manifestation
The Lightning Goddess Byakurai, is a beautiful priestess. She rides atop the Bengal God Durga.
Inner World:
The Inner world of Rangiku's Zanpakutou, Byakurai, is amid st a snowy mountain, with an island at the center. It is constantly bombarded with heavy snow, and raging lightning. It is here the Lightning Goddess resides. The temperatures in the inner world is -40 degrees Fahrenheit, except for on the island, which is 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
