Ryuu what most would call "Tall, dark and handsome." and the reason is because he is a man who stands at six foot two inches and weighs one hundred and sixty seven pounds of extremely well toned muscles. His personality reflects his appearance and so he has long dark hair, covered in bandages that devour his monsterous reiatsu underneath his clothes and covers one side of his face just over one eye. That eye for some unknown reason seems to be the eye of a hollow, yet Ryuu believes it has more to do with himself as he is now.
He often wears dark, gothic or just strange yet noble looking outfits. His main outfit is that of a noble lord whom has rejected the world outside and lives alone in darkness and so the outfit reflects that. It is made up of a strong comfortble padding like material and leather but is still strong enough to lessen most strikes to prevent Ryuu from being harmed. Over that is a large over coat with riffles in the center, somewhat big patted shoulders and a fashion that allowed for easy movement and considerate protection further. the coat when still seems to come around the body like a dress but in movement beyond not much other than just walking,
Ryuu's appearance seems to match his personality. Normally he is a very noble man, and though he clings to that status he doesn't act like a spoiled one. He isn't beyond helping those who are no better than street-rats. He believes everyone is equal and deserving of equal respect at first meet, however it is up too others to gain or lose that respect. He knows hollows were once humans and many of which did not choose to become the things they are now despite their new personalities. So he tries to end their lives as hollows as quickly as possible in order to set them free. While he may not agree or support everyone, he won't take the fighting to far over something that isn't worth it. He tries to get along and help everyone. He is very easy going on his normal days and somewhat hard to get on the bad side of
During battle, while his power and abilities seem like a reflection of a spartan, he is completely different mentally. During battle his personality shifts depending on his enemy. If it is just a normal hollow, he uses quick execution style fighting to end it really fast, mostly by allowing others to fight and then sneak attacking to finish it. However if its someone he's locked in mortal combat with and he's fighting for a real reason, his battle ability is much more focused and he won't back down no matter what. He hates fighting with any power that isn't his very own, this includes relying on Sesshomaru's views of how to fight and because of this he often tries to fight with as little reiatsu as possible, for this reason he only fights when ordered by a higher rank or when it absolutely has too.
Ryuu can't stand fighting while trying to control his spiritual pressure, despite Sesshomaru's help Ryuu simply hates it. Even when pushed too his limits, He cares nothing for achieving bankai or becoming a captain. However he plans to change everything for the better.
Depression:
Ryuu suffers from Tri-polar disorder and often becomes depressed, its the only emotion that when he feels. Ryuu often disappears for days on end and misses a lot of work due to his reclusive nature that seems to take over when he is feeling under. Should Ryuu's depression take him during battle will case the fight and walk away, leaving the foe for someone else to deal with.

Date of Birth: December 27th, 1757
Place of Birth : Savannah , Georgia (U.S.A.)
Life: Born from a Japanese father and white American mother, He grew up in a rich family, well rich for back then. He grew up working hard everyday, since they decided against buying slaves, they had to do all the work on their own to keep everything in order. As he grew his body became strong, and his parents taught him both western and eastern sword styles. He reached 17 and was a noble young man, strong and a great suitor for any women, however he only wanted one. And before the year was up, he married her. Four years later, while he and his wife were enjoying a nice picnic with their three year old son.
On that day while he was dancing with his wife and the two fell to the ground holding each other, they had briefly forgotten about their son. Noticing he was not making his usual sounds while he played. They looked around for him and saw he was far away from them and heading towards a road. Seeing a horse and wagon coming down the hill on that road, Ryuu ran for his son's life with all he had, his wife following behind, but unable to keep up with Ryuu’s great running speed.
As he ran for his boy, he saw the wagon coming and he began to cry, fearing he wouldn’t make it in time due to the remaining distance. As the driver rounded the corner, he straighten up and heard a loud sound as the wagon hit a large bump. Ryuu ceased in his steps as he came upon his son’s body, and picking him up tears pouring down his face, his wife rushing over to cling to him and her fallen baby boy.
Seven years later Ryuu joins the fight in the American Revolution, all in order to keep what he had left, safe. He fought in every battle he could, using guns, knives, hatchets but unlike his follow soldiers, he used two swords, A katana at his hip and a claymore on his back. At the Siege of Savannah in 1779, American and French troops fought unsuccessfully to retake the city, this is when he decided to go fight on the front lines, figuring it’d be better if he stopped fighting all the countless sub-wars and went straight for the throat. In June of 1780 during a fight in a large open field, just outside of a city Ryuu couldn't remember the name of, something took place that he couldn't understand.
When his men finally broke through the enemies line, they found all the commanders there were already dead yet no wounds seemed to have killed them. Ryuu and a few other soldiers felt something the whole battle but they had no idea what it really was. These strange events continued the rest of the war, people on both sides dying from unexplainable reasons.
His fight in the American Revolutionary War dated 1775-1783.
In 1790 Ryuu was a now retired from the army and living back on his family farm, he had few hobbies due to his massive work load. On one beautiful day in may a man who served with him showed up offering Ryuu some peace, a means to end the nightmares and more than enough money to allow any grandchildren to live without working a day in their lives. Ryuu accepted the offer and set out towards the sea.
When he made it too the Florida beaches, he found out that this secret mission was to discover a source of power that could keep the whole nation from ever having to worry about another war ever again. On the twenty seventh of December, the coldest night of not only that but any winter Ryuu had ever known, Something happen which would change him forever.
Ryuu's ship was attacked by something no one but Ryuu could see. A monster like nothing he had ever known before, its screams were more disturbing to him then the deepest war drums and he couldn't understand why he was the only one able to see it or how it was alive with a clear whole through his chest. Quickly the crew fell to the creature they couldn't see, and as they did Ryuu understood, they had given him that same strange feeling from the time in the war. Until that moment Ryuu had never shown his power other then that of his will.
Taking his claymore in hand, he attack the creatures, but it quickly proved fruitless. Ryuu's spiritual powers had been leaking out all his life, but not like they were now. In the middle of Ryuu's fight for survival the monsters just stopped and backed off him. But it was in no way good for him. The ocean instantly took a turn for the worse and the air became heavy, so heavy Ryuu couldn't even keep on his knees. While he lay on his back unable to move, a strange man appeared before him, the man seemed like a half breed, mix between a man and one of the monsters.
The stranger asked Ryuu his name. "Ryuu Kenmaru.." When Ryuu replied the stranger smiled and told Ryuu. "I am Kaine, its a pleasure to meet you. In fact I'm extremely pleased you came here, because I need you." A confused look on Ryuu's face as he decided he had enough and it was time too get up. Trying to use all his human strength to stand, but he still could hardly move an inch. Looking on in interest Kaine landed on deck and told Ryuu "If you stop relying on you're human power and start using you're true power, you won't have any trouble standing before me. I'm using almost no reiatsu, you can stand up now."
Ryuu had no idea what he was talking about, but the weight this guy was somehow able to put into the air itself was amazing. Looking at the broken sword Ryuu was using before he came up with a great idea. Picking up the broken blade he then walked over to Ryuu and smiled as he quickly stabbed him in the chest. Ryuu unable to do anything laid there coughing up blood until his eye glazed over and with his Wife in his mind, his vision turned black. Hearing the sound of the stormy ocean still surrounding him, he opened his eyes and saw himself on the floor of the deck. In shock Ryuu couldn't believe his eyes, and it took him a moment too feel the hand on his shoulder.
Turning he saw Kaine smiling at him, Ryuu's eyes slowly moved down to see Kaine was holding the end of a broken chain. "Now the real fight begins." As soon as Ryuu heard these words the end of his chain began moving and dissolving. The reaction from this actually released Ryuu's spiritual energy that was locked away inside him. The blast from its eruption was enough to send Kaine flying back crashing into a high wave over fifty yards from the ship. The ship itself exploded and crumbled under the level of power coming from Ryuu. Ryuu himself stayed in that one spot, the ocean forced away from him, his hair forced straight up and his clothes almost being torn from his body from the sheer power he was putting out. Bursting out of the water, Kaine looked on in amazement. "Pure destructive power, he is the chosen one, Once its over he'll be a hollow...."
Raising his right hand to the level of his eyes he could see it shaking as much as the rest of him. Kaine couldn't believe it, this feeling he had it was something he had never known in his whole hollow life and to be experiencing it now, it was that much more amazing. His eyes reflecting Ryuu, who was clenching his fist, his arms and legs pumped, filled with power. His eyes pure white and every vain in his body seemed like they were about to burst. "Yes! hahahaha... As a simple soul who is just beginning to awaken, he is already putting out even more power than even I gave credit for!.... Do you hear me Ryuu Kenmaru!! I am a Vasto Lorde! who has never known excitement until now!" Kaine pushed out even more Spiritual energy too keep himself in the air.
Seeing below the light from Ryuu was reflecting from the surface of the water, but now something much darker was bubbling up, something that would make these two powers seem like childs play. Now was the time Kaine had waited for, if he didn't act now there was no telling what would happen. He vanished from his location and appeared in front of Ryuu, grabbing his soul chain Kaine looked down, with a grin that was nothing short of a reflection of both his insanity and pleasure, his eyes turned to green flames and the darkness from in bottom on the ocean erupted like a nuclear blast. Throwing Ryuu down into the core of the dark blast, Kaine then vanished. Reappearing not even a second later, far from where he was before. His insane grin still pasted on his pal face as he chuckled until it turned into all out laughter.
The storm clouds and even the vast ocean itself faded to black as a giant dark purple light shined with a large silhouette of a winged monster, this phenomena last a few minutes before everything faded back to normal. Feeling the collective powers of what he thought must have been captain level soul reapers, he figured everything was going according to his master plan. He turned his back opening a portal, still laughing only harder. As he left this world, he voice echoed over the ocean. Ryuu slowly opened his weak eyelids and saw he was barely hanging on to a large piece of wood, keeping him afloat. His eyes closed and just before he lost himself, he could feel hands take hold of him, then a somewhat painful strike from a small blunt object to his forehead.

The Academy
When Ryuu woke, he was in a white room, covered and strapped to a bed, his head hooked to some form of device he couldn't make out, he felt his entire body and could even see from the one eye not covered, that he was wrapped in bandages, bandages that were blood stained. A women in white walked into the room, introducing herself and a even younger girl next too her, Ryuu's head hurt so much he didn't catch her last name, nor did he care at this point. "Who saved me?" He asked, quickly following up with "And who the hell are you?" No reply came from them, The woman turned and walked out, with the small girl telling him to go back to sleep and get his rest before she felt his room as well. He rolled his eyes and closed his eyelids, though that was easy since they felt like they have some real weight to them.
For the next few months Ryuu resided in the hospital room, his straps were only removed when he was allowed to move around the room, but the thing on his head had to remain. Only the young lady the little girl were allowed into Ryuu's room and they only visited him once a week, the girl would sometimes visit three times a week if Ryuu was lucky. His time in the hospital was lonely and no one would ever answer his questions. In fact they often questioned him and every time he replied with the same story, A freak named Kaine appeared and he was stabbed.
He told them he didn't know how he was without the sword stab or how he became shipwrecked. Finally one day the small little girl walked in with a clipboard with a single sheet of paper and handed it too Ryuu. It was a note telling him everything they knew. Looking at her he questioned her about the fact it stated he was dead. She told him that he had died and was now in the after life, that the only way they could save him was to exorcise him on the spot due to his body dissolving. After a whole day of talking she left his room late that night, leaving him with countless thoughts, most about what happen and many about the Academy they told him about.
The next week he finally got another visit from the little girl and the young lady, this time they removed the thing on his head but kept his face wrapped those strange gray bandages, after they did they told him he could leave the room he was in. They took him outside, showing him the new world in which he lived. He felt like he would have to live like those men who were wounded in the war, though he didn't have much trouble moving around, he wasn't allowed to remove the bandages nor was he allowed to be awake when they were changed.
While they were out and Ryuu was learning, he asked about the academy, so naturally they showed him. Telling him all about Shinigami and Hollows, they also further explained too him about his encounter with the one they called "The Vasto Lorde" and never by his name, it wasn't long before Ryuu was ready too enter into the academy.
One year later, Ryuu entered into the academy, along side some really great future soul reapers. During his first day there, he was friendless and ignored by his peers. 6 years and 3 months later Ryuu had finally completed his Kidô, Hohô/Shunpô and Zanjutsu but not his Zanpakuto, so for the next seven months Ryuu was forced too struggle with hearing its name, despite the fact he could hear its voice calling him even since he first laid eyes on the blade. One day Ryuu was sitting in his one room home that was located a questionable distance from everything else, standing there looking at the only window, he heard the voice of his zanpakuto ordering him in a most seductive voice, to remove the bandages from his face, and by doing so he would be one step closer to understanding his own power, understanding that the connection with his soul slayer was greater than he knew..
Though so many times before, he disobeyed due to all the warnings he was given by all the Captain, he went against their wishes, thinking this one time it wouldn't hurt. He slowly undid the bandages around his jaw and unwrapped them a few times. He then ripped the rest of them from his head. His hair had been compressed for so long, it hurt as it stretched out. A single strand of cloth covered his left eye, wrapt so it would remained fassened there, he couldn't understand why that eye had been kept hidden, if it was gone or blind, he would be able to handle it but as he removed the cloth fell from his face his reflection shocked him, he couldn't believe the sight.
His left eye was black and his iris was yellow, the same color eyes of the monsters who attacked his ship, the same color eyes as the hollows he has been trained to kill, the same eyes as his enemy. Stepping back in fear of what it meant, Ryuu's hands gripped to that side of his face, covering it. The mere sight of it sickend him and made him disorinted like a soldier who just had a granade go off next too him but didn't get hit by the shrat. As he reached for his sword, his zanpakuto began releasing small spiritual particles. They gathered as Ryuu fell forward. When Ryuu awoke he was back in his bandages and tied down with a room of pissed off officials.
Told to keep his eye hidden from the public, less he be regarded as a hollow. While it didn't make sense that his eye was like that with no signs of hollow within him, obviously there was another reason for his strange eye.
Once Ryuu finished the final seven months of training and schooling he was made into a official Soul Reaper. However due to his terrifying eye that made even the captains unease when they saw it, Ryuu was by order of central 46 too never leave his special home without having his eye covered. Because of Ryuu's insane looking eye he is often under watch of the higher ups and isn't given much freedom even inside the walls, most likely them making sure a hollow parasite isn't living inside him waiting for a chance to kill him and run free.
