Name Teruya Jin Age: 17 Gender: Male Rank: II Specialists: Martial Arts specialist, Armed Combat non-specialist, Agility specialist, Advent non-specialist. Appearance: Jin appears far less muscular than he actually is. Though thin, his body is rigid and defined from martial training. Straight, raven hair contrasts the fair skin it sits upon. It's kept long and is rather unkempt, usually put into a ponytail, framing an angular, jagged face. Two tattoos adorn his skin, one plastered upon his left forearm in weaving, intricate designs, the other upon his right calf. There are a number of bladed scars on his back.
Though he keeps to no one set of clothes, his style is often seen as rebellious. It generally makes a statement about his character. Generally, he wears loose-fitting clothes that are easy to move in and bears odd items as adornments, such as chains. Oftentimes, his clothes are ragged and torn. Most importantly, however, Jin always wears his twelve beads about his neck. Advent Affinity: Vaizard Power Focus: Jin's powers are based on the twelve beads worn around his neck, each of the beads tying in with one of the Twelve Nidānas. In order to activate said power, he needs to 'equip' the bead, which will enable a specific ability. Advent Human Power:
Name Nidāna XII — Asura Level: Description: The Twelve Nidāna’s— a chain of twelve phenomena originally analyzed as a means to reveal the origins of said phenomena. It was a way to identify the origins of the conditioning and suffering of in current (as well as future) lives. Originally taught to students as a method of meditation, those whom analyzed, and even those whom avidly followed its creed, had only scratched the surface. The truth behind the Twelve Nidāna is one found only in fables and exaggerated tales, a story of a hidden power bestowed upon a chosen disciple every twelve hundred years. Of course, this was dismissed as a tale passed down from generation to generation, however, the rebellious Jin is a testament to its existence. For each of the twelve beads which hang around his neck, a Nidāna is represented by them. Each of the twelve holds a unique power of surreal capabilities, and each correlating with the Nidāna it is represented by. Currently, Jin has unlocked only one of the twelve Nidāna’s.
IV Nāmarūpa: Preceded by Vijñāna and followed by Ṣaḍāyatana, Nāmarūpa is the fourth Nidāna. Where Nāma generally refers to the psychological and mental elements of a human, Rūpa will refer to the physical aspects. The two are inseparable and jointly depend on one another, representing the relationship between body and mind. When Jin is equipped with the Nāmarūpa Nidāna, the hues of his eyes will change to a deep crimson as a pair of black and red gauntlets as well as greaves manifest. The pair of gauntlet and greaves, mostly obsidian in color with a crimson color outlining the ancient carvings, is primarily aesthetic, although Jin is more than able to use it for defense. The true power of Nāmarūpa lies within the offensive aura is created. Jin’s attacks suddenly become backed up by a large mass of reiatsu resembling the body part (for example, a punch will generate a large image of a fist, which will rush towards the opponent at speeds dependent on Jin’s speed specialist level and rank). Any damage from these attacks from a distance will deal damage similar to that of the original attack. These projectiles are much stronger at close range, making it an advantage for Axcel to close in, even with ranged attacks. Blood red in color. Due to its imperfection, the balance between Nāma and Rūpa is greatly unequal, with the more influential one being the former, hence the lack of solidity behind the attacks. Without Rūpa, which embraces static aspects of human embodiment (tissue, organic structure, etc), Jin lacks proper control the offensive aura manifested by the fourth Nidāna. This currently limits his abilities to direct attacks, and he is unable to perform tasks such as grabbing and holding objects. The size of the mass of reiatsu (influenced by Nāma) varies depending on Jin’s current mental state. While the legend of the Twelve Nidāna states that the peak of power is obtained through enlightenment, Jin’s level of irritation seems to directly correlate with the size (as well as damage) of the attacks. When calm, the size of the attack can be anywhere from two to five times bigger than the body part it represents. When pushed to the extent of his mental and physical fortitude, the large masses of energy can be up to twenty times the size of the original body part. Restrictions: Dependent on upgrades in order to achieve all twelve Nidāna's. Currently only able to use Nidāna IV for a total three rounds per rank before having the Nidāna automatically unequipped (note: this is not due to the drain of reiatsu, but rather the inexperience of the user). Can only 'equip' one Nidāna at a time.
History: If I told you I was raised by Shaolin Monks and sheltered away from society until the age of twelve, would you believe me? I suppose after taking a single glance at me, you’ll dismiss this story of mine as a joke, more bullshit from Teruya Jin, just trying to breeze through his Autobiography Essay as fast as possible. Alright then, I’ll just give you the same crap I feed every teacher, every year, every time we’re assigned this ridiculous monotonous ‘beginning of the year’ essay. Will that suffice? It better, or you’re going to find yourself quickly transferring out of Karakura High. I mean…uh…what?
Anyways, the truth is, I wasn’t raised by monks. Of course not, that’s impossible isn’t it? I’m just you’re average, run of the mill cynical teenager in need of some anger management. A secret of mine (which better remain a secret), is that I have a soft spot for stuffed animals. Don’t judge me. I didn’t have many friends growing up and my old man worked at an outsourced ‘build a bear’ factory. In fact, my only real friend is some camera obsessed photographing freak, which may or may not be an exaggeration. Don’t tell anyone though, I go through great lengths to avoid being seen with him in school, I’ve got a reputation after all— and I can’t be seen hanging around guys like that.
Moving on, I’ve got quite the knack for getting into trouble and, as you might be able to tell from the tone of this essay, have a bit of an attitude as well as a dislike for people in general. They can really be annoying. Always telling me to go out and get good grades so I can get into a good school later, and get a good job so I can work for a good company and live a good life. I don’t need any of that— I’ll live my own life the way I please, thank you very much.
More to be revealed about Jin’s past as people get to know him ICly
