Appearance: Hirugai Yamato is a tall youth, standing at five feet, ten inches, and weighing about one-hundred and thirty-six pounds. He has lighter skin than most and a lithe frame. His shoulders are broad and his body is constructed from lean muscle. His facial features are soft, smooth, and angular, with a slighter chin and deeply set eyes. The eyes themselves are enigmatic and intriguing, colored hazel. His hair is a light brown, and hangs messily around his head, long enough to fall half-way into his field of vision. It settles somewhat wavily around his scalp. The slightest of natural blond highlights grace his temples. He has a faint scar on the underside of his chin, the legacy of an old accident.
Yamato wears simple clothing, wearing a pair of well-fitting blue jeans on his lower body, over a pair of plaid blue-and-white boxers. White socks and blue-white sneakers cover his feet. He wears a tight-fitting white t-shirt over his torso. Over that, he wears an plaid shirt patterned in whites, blacks, and grays, with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows and the front hanging open and unbuttoned. He wears a simple white rubber band around his right wrist. He has a distinctive pattern of 'x' shaped scars on his left forearm, the remains of his first battle with the Hollow scourge.

His sword holds within it a latent warrior spirit named Izanagi.

Description: Seirei Gattai is the unique ability of Hirugai Yamato to imbue spiritual power into his focus, awakening the latent spirit within and creating a spiritual armor form from it. Black and gold plate armor manifests around his shoulder and going down his arm. This armor seems to hover an inch away from the arm, suspended in place by yellow-gold spiritual energy. It also covers his hand like a gauntlet. Around the sword Natsume, a larger spiritual sword manifests. It has the same general appearance as Natsume, though it is larger, about a meter in blade length. This armor is powerful, and has defensive power equal to it's level. Yamato can manifest it once per thread, plus one for every rank above zero he possesses. The sword is dangerously sharp and can cut through spiritual and physical objects like a zanpaktou.

History: Hirugai Yamato was born in Karakura Town. From the beginning, he knew he was different. His parents were different. Yamato's mother was a Quincy who had rejected the strict teachings of the order, exiling herself from the official order of the Quincy. His father was a Shinigami, a runaway from Soul Society who decided to free himself from the ritualistic military organization. The two exiles met and fell in love, bonding over their embattled struggles for freedom from century-old codes and dogma.
In their love, the two of them birthed a child, Yamato. Yamato was born different; he was born with the natural spiritual strength of a noble soul from either of their native societies. His mother, however, would not train him as a Quincy, nor would his father subject him to life as a Shinigami. Yamato's heritage was kept secret from him, for his whole life. His mother and father were simply that to him, human beings. He never knew of the power that was burdened inside him, lighting his soul aflame with it's might.
That was, of course, until necessity would bring it to the forefront of him. After years of martial arts training, his dojo was attacked. Not by any normal beast, no, but Yamato and his fellow martial artists were attacked by a Hollow, an empty soul. The beast broke through the wall and threatened to consume all of them. In that same moment, for the first time in years, his father abandoned human form and retook the shape of a Shinigami to defend them.
It was a bloody battle; the beast was powerful, ranging into the levels of the Adjuchas. His father, only the lowest level of Shinigami, could not contend with such a beast. His was the level of the Gillian, eclipsed by the might of the beast. With his mother too far away to render assistance, Yamato was in danger of seeing his father's life quenched before him. He would not allow such a thing to pass. It was not his dream to allow the people he loved to die. He reached within himself, looking for the strength to fight back.
Touched by the spiritual pressure of his father's true form, Yamato's hidden powers were awakened, manifesting themselves. He was able to defeat the beast, along with his sire, and the true nature of his heritage was revealed to him. His mother and father, now found out, were made to return to their duties in both of their homes.
