Name: Maximilian, Thermidor Gender: Male Age: Nineteen Height: 5'10” Weight: 160 lbs Appearance: The Maximilian name is pridefully carried out in nearly every aspect of Thermidor's frame, his features reminiscent of all his brethren from top to bottom. Though, he himself has strayed from the same grooming as he did back when he lived with his family.
As explained, Thermidor's appearance is rather rugged. His hair, silver, is rather messy. Usually the way his hair is when he wakes up is the way it stays. Seldom does this differ from spiking up in random patterns about his head, poking out randomly from nearly every which way. His eyes are rather large, his brow and lashes too a bit longer and more effeminate than usual. Moving lower to his face his jawline rather curved, nose curved in such a perfect (as for what the Maximilian expect) way, cheeks provided with the perfect ratio of flesh to definition. His ears are pierced, perhaps out a bit of a rebellious nature (as it wasn't in tradition to do such) two piercings located on the top ear portion and one on the lobe on both ears.
For casual wear, or what he would say he would wear to classes of which he never attended, his attire never differs from a basic template. All Thermidor is ever seen wearing casually is simple jeans and a shirt. The shirt itself is usually never the same more than twice, but the jeans are never anything but blue.
For a more formal, or battle attire, Thermidor goes all out. The norm of his casual wear is thrown out. For these situations Thermidor is always seen wearing something of normal formal wear. Sometimes Thermidor may wear a simple black or tan slack and collared shirt combination, other times going more elitist of a look crowning himself with his favorite black or red leather jackets and orange or white sunglasses.
History: Thermidor comes from much of a traditional Quincey family. That is, his family has been around since the formation of the Quincey itself. They have been there to see the whole entire history of the Quincey play out. Consequently, considering themselves a Quincey family of “Noble” (as in untainted, children bred through breeding between original Quincey) blood they expect much of their children. They have since kept a strict standard of producing Quincey of the highest caliber from within their bloodline and as such, much was put on the shoulders of a young Thermidor.
Thermidor was given his name as much of the other male's were in his family. There was only one male per generation; each given the same name. This meant that every male in his family had much the same name. Such was a sort of way to keep up the name of the family, each preceding Thermidor would make a name for himself and add to the legend. Thermidor was forced to keep up with such a thing, being forcefully taught (whether he liked it or not) of his Quincey abilities at the young age of five. The Maximilian had developed much of their own methods of training their children. Their main focus was on the projection of spiritual energy and the speed at which they moved. It was their thinking that so long as they were fast enough to dodge whatever came at them, only one powerful shot was needed. This translated well from the old-days to the new, from the old Quincey to Neo-Quincey, providing them mastery over their chosen Reiiro and superior athleticism. Subsequently, due to much of their lineage, all preceding Maximilian have chosen a weapon of traditional nature, if not in actual physical appearance in concept; thus, consequently, they have all been ranged weaponry.
Thermidor lived a sheltered life during the time he was being trained in the Quincey arts, which was from age five to seventeen . It was only once he passed the 'test' of rite; a test in which he was forced to dispatch several captured hollow at once, that he was set free into the world. At seventeen the test was passed, the deed as done, and he was allowed rite to leave his sheltered Quincey compound and lead a normal life.
Time passing, Thermidor finding himself in Karakura town, where he somewhat 'settled down'. The small town seemed like a perfect place to start his own patrols and slaying of the Hollow. Taking up the persona of a college student he settled into a small apartment complex located just off the Riverside. The activity in the town had seemed to be rather slow and serene, no big events, no major hollows. It was perfect, he was doing his duty, slaying hollow's like nobodies' business, and not having to overexert himself to do it. However, something had seemed to be stirring in the last few days. . What was it?
Rank: 5 Specialties:
- Bukido Specialist
- Sumido Specialist
- Mahodo Specialist
- Karado Non-Specialist
Reiiro: Firearms Reibuki Manipulations:
- USP (Semi-Automatic Handgun)
- SPAS-12 (Pump-Action Shotgun)
- ---
Neo Quincey Powers
- Reiiro (Soul Forge)
Level: Moderate Description: The most basic of all Quincey Abilities, it is still one that takes some getting used to. Available to all Quincey, this technique actually does three specific things. The first is a type of attunement towards a specific type of weapon. These can range from swords, whips, bows, axes, picks; basically, take your pick of one weapon. The second ability is the ability to absorb Reiryoku, or Spirit Power, from the atmosphere. This capability is greatly enhanced in places of highly condensed Reiryoku, such as Soul Society or Hueco Mundo. Finally, Reiiro grants the user the capability of rapidly condensing the Reiryoku into Reiatsu, which is then used as fuel to perform Reibuki, Neo Quincey Powers, or Gintō spells. Restrictions: Must be a Neo Quincey.
- Reibuki (Spirit Weapon)
Level: Moderate Description: The penultimate technique of the Neo Quincey. Gone are the days when Quincey needed a weapon base and then simply manipulating their Reiatsu into those weapons. In these days, the art of the Quincey has progressed to a heightened stage, so that they can formulate a weapon based entirely out of their Reiatsu. When the ability is first obtained, they may formulate a singular weapon. As the user obtains more Reibuki Manipulations, the user is capable of creating differing forms of the weapon, although it must stick within the theme of the Reiiro (So, for example, if the user was using swords, the first manipulation could be a broad sword and the second one would be a two-handed sword, etc.) Restrictions: Must be a Neo Quincey.
- Hirenkyaku (Flying Screen Step)
Level: Low Description: A technique that is not very difficult to perform, and is available to every Quincey upon reaching Rank 1. Similar to the other "rapid speed" abilities, such as Sprint and Shunpo, this technique allows the user to create a great number of spirit particles underneath their feet, which then slide towards the desired direction. The greater the user's Sumido capabilities, the faster this sliding will occur, eventually allowing for 'seeming' instant transportation between one area and another. Restrictions: Must reach Rank 1. Use: 16
- Name: Ganz Geistig Vertreibung (Full Spiritual Expulsion)
Level: Very High. Description: Through mastery over their abilities to use spiritual particles, a gun toting Quincey gains the ability to manipulate their shots in a rather unique form. Rather than shooting singular bullets the Quincey can now prepare 'beams' of Reiryoku (Spirtual Power) to use to combat the oncoming Hollow menace. The atmosphere is combed for spiritual particles, of which are constantly siphoned into the Quincey's gun. As the gun charges it begins to shine brightly as more and more spiritual particles are gathered, taking a total of one post to completely charge. Upon pulling of the trigger a 'beam' of Reiryoku (Spiritual Power) of a diameter of one meter and length of five meters is released. The 'beam' itself travels at 2/3 the speed of a typical Quincey bullet (of which travels just shy of the speed of a paint ball), and only has effective radius of thirty meters. When the beam hits this 'wall' of effectiveness is dissipates into the world harmlessly. As the user grows in specialist level and rank they will gain the ability to use the power more often, building upon a basic usage limit of three times per thread.
- Mahodo Non-Specialist: +0 Every Rank.
- Mahado Specialist: +1 Every Two Ranks.
- Mahado Master: +1 Every Rank.
Restrictions: Must be Neo Quincey. Must be using gun Reibuki. Must be able to Soul Forge. Cannot use/perform Quincey skill/powers over "Low" level whilst charging. Requires one post preparation and then one post cooldown before it can be used again, during which the Quincey's abilities to manipulate their Reibuki to fire bullets is inhibited halving their effectiveness. Uses: 3
- Name: Geist-Leine (Spirit Tether)
Level: Moderate. Description: When active an invisible field extends for ten meters, for five turns. Each bullet that is shot thereafter has a thin near-invisible spirit tether attached to it. By pulling on this tether, by simply willing it so within effective radius, a quincey can change the trajectory of the bullets one time. The field increases in range by two meters for every rank the quincey gains after four. Restrictions: User must have a gun reibuki. Must be at least Rank 4. Can only be used once per bullet, on a single bullet, or a group of bullets. Range: 12 Meters
- Name: Antriebschuß (Impulse Shot)
Level: Moderate Description: When activated the user's current reibuki is granted an extra concussive force per shot, for double the reiatsu cost of a normal shot. Until deactivated when a bullet comes into contact with any surface be it flesh or stone it will generate kinetic push for five meters, increasing by one meter every rank after obtained. At first the push will have the force behind it move a two-hundred pound object, the force increases by fifty pounds every two ranks the user obtains. If the user switches reibuki type, such as switching from handgun to machinegun, while this is active it will be deactivated, and needed to be activated again. Restrictions: Neo Quincey. Projectile-based Reibuki.
Gintō Spells
- Heizen (Heating)
Strength: Moderate Category: 1 Description: Pulling Reiatsu from the Gintō (Silver Tubes), the user will then begin to control the reiatsu, allowing it to begin pooling on their right arm. Then, muttering the incantation, "Feel the wrath of battle and accept this sacred chalice - Sacred Bite!", the user will then extend their right arm, releasing the reiatsu. Taking the shape of a fast-moving block of energy, it then attempts to pierce through the opponent. Restrictions: None.
- Grundlage (Foundation)
Strength: Medium Category: One Description: The user pulls reiatsu from Ginto, splaying their fingers before them and calling out the incantation: “The pillars, built upon the hallowed earth, rise to war! Grundlage!” A wall of dozens of blocks made of reiatsu will materialize before the user, acting as a defensive shield against techniques equal to its own strength for one round at most. Restrictions: None.
