What are your theories about Ichigo's father? Why did he only recently regain his abilities? Who was he formerly? How did he meet Urahara if Urahara left Soul Society way before Isshin did?

Pretty simple idea I’ve got going but also believable. Isshin fell in love with Ichigo’s mom ( she could see Isshin ) and he either one had his powers stripped in order to live with her or two, he fled ( which I then wouldn’t know why his powers had died out on him ). The obvious happened in soul society and because of such, his Shinigami powers returned to him. I’ve heard some say he was part of the Shiba clan as well; who knows.
As to how he knows Urahara and Ishida’s Father; I have no clue. As to Urahara I’ll guess the same way Rukia does. Ishida’s Father ( who’s name isn’t coming to me ) I have no clue ( It’s safe to say that since they’re both under the medical field that they may know each other that way but beyond that, I’m unsure ) though I want them to unravel the chapter and story behind him, as Isshin is one of my favorite characters. The fact that he was a shinigami caught me by surprise and I wanna know the story behind him. I hope I'm wrong though as I want that shit to be a god damn twisting shocker or something.

I think me and my friend bounced Ideas off of each other and figured he was the former leader of the 11th squad, like before the guy who was defeated by Zareki. Think about it. |

I also thought about him falling in love with Ichigo's mother could be the cause of him leaving. In my opinion that may be the most plausible one.
And Coma, you could be right to. We never saw the 11th Division Captain in Turn Back the Pendulum right?

Isshin's power was felt my multiple people, one of which was Shinji. Shinji didn't know who it was, leading me to believe that he wasn't the 11th division captain. I think maybe he was part of the royal guard/division 0, possibly explaining why nobody recognized him.
