Would it perhaps be possible to increase the power of a kido spell by adding points into it?
Like for example, you have White Lightning which is a 'low' spell. If I spent one more point into it (as a Kido Spec) it could serve to bump it up to the next rank in terms of power.
The points needed would be the same amount of points you would normally need to get a spell of the next level.
For example. Kido non-spec wants to make White lightning a 'High' ranked spell, essentially raising it to level 3 kido.
First he has to spend a single point to get the spell in the first place. Then 2 more points to raise it one level (medium). Then he spends another 3 points to raise it another level, making it High ranked.
I wonder if this could be done because it seems a reasonable and balanced system imo, and also because we often see Byakuya using what we consider a low spell such as White Lightning with great effectiveness, and heavy power imo.

Well, Byakuya can use Byakurai with such power because he's extremely well versed in Kido and is a high level Captain. A Low power ability is much stronger used by say, a Rank 15, compared to a Rank 5.
Spells are numbered in the system because there's a maximum potential to their abilities. A level four spell will simply never be able to be as strong as a level sixty-three spell used by the same person.
