His sight would shift as the terrain he walked through altered and quite quickly for a place as large as this one - the Soul Society. Silver obscurities piercing the distance before him as he grew quite wondrous of the blade on his hip, the right specifically. The incurable cries given off would be unheard by this Shinigami who'd taken it along with him for some time now, it had been calling out for long now but its voice was so weak - their bond so thin... It couldn't be heard whether he would figure it had been doing such a thing or not. To him, now, this was just another blade - a Katana if you will. A Zanpaktou given to him only a short time after he'd begun to practice here within this, Realm. He'd swallow...
The clothing that would warm his figure was nothing out of the ordinary and nothing that would be normally worn by those of the Shinigami. The leather jacket over his black t-shirt would be fully unzipped for the breath of his new home to coat him lightly as his own would be released to coat and dance with the competition at hand. So thoughtless of him to think of his weapon as a toy, just another tool. He hadn't grown weary for he hadn't done much yet. Though his being here in these parts of Rukongai meant he was in for something he'd been looking for at least a bit. Hanging, the well feeling of dancing with a comrade or even someone disliked - one had to learn somewhere correct? His will to per say, battle someone wasn't but so big and he would rather strike up against something that wouldn't strike back, interesting.
His skin a bit darker than usual under the light he'd been walking beneath for some time now and the necklace wobbling around his neck like a loose shoestring would come to an abrupt halt as he himself did. Feet being planted firmly unto the tiles below him for he'd found himself at the very grounds he'd been searching for. The path strolled through was a narrow one, ground dusty whereas one would constantly crunch dirt beneath their feet while Koen, his boots were a deal effective in preventing such a feel from radiating throughout his body. The rings pushed far back on his fingers would be glared at quickly, where they came from a sheer mystery and where the necklace came from just a confusing. The sound of crunching wood and raging flames would never cease to arouse within his head....where were they coming from?
He'd grown a deal curious but what could he do about it but stare into the distance, his Silver Eyes glistening as they bounced from the various faces and Shinigami Uniforms before him. Never, once had he felt good about wearing the thing out in this Society. He'd swallow before placing his right hand down onto the warm hilt of Makaihi. The mass atop his head, hanging and swaying before his eyes would be blown aside with a single breath. Shining the brightest of a crimson color here in this society would his hair look almost like a Flare, nothing to clash with his clothing nor eyes. What he was looking for seemed to be out of reach - made things seem as if they couldn't be touched, as if he was nothing more than a bad figment of someone's imagination, here for no particular reason. He'd stand stiff...
"There's a reason for everything I suppose." he would note lightly. "Just can't remember..." Within those eyes it could be seen all so easily, the confusion... Resent. The hatred he'd begun to find deep within the pits of his heart, if he had one that is. So unsure whether the beat behind his chest was real or just in the mind - The curse laid upon him was so long... Life and Afterlife long.

''You have almost got it, I do it like this.'' The shinigami whispered as she stretched out her back, both of her hands standing before her.
She closed her lids, hiding the cerulean hues behind. Appearing above her palms was a ball of pure reaitsu. The floating orb of blue spiritual energy created no sound, it simply stood there. This technique was usually the first one learned by anyone that had some sort of spiritual control. The child that Meimu had been speaking to animated himself as he saw the display of power. To a specialist in Kido, this was a breeze. The child clapped his hands happily. ''I want to do it as effortlessly as you do Hakuchou-sama.'' The kid would declare as he too started focusing spiritual energy into his hands, with difficulty he was able to create a smaller and paler orb when compered to the 4th Division Shinigami's.
''Well, I think you will get accepted in the academy if you keep on working on it.'' The girl said with a smile, her voice as gentle as the first snow.
Meimu ran her fingers through the boy's hair with a smile as she looked around. Her cerulean optics scanned the area around, not too far from where she was she noticed another individual. He did not seem to be dressed in the traditional clothing of the Shinigami like she had been wearing. For a moment she even caught herself staring at the man. She quickly turned around, breaking the occular link, her sudden head movement sent her long curly locks bouncing about her shoulders before they settled upon her shoulders and back. The child tilted his head upward towards the Hakuchou.
''Lady Hakuchou, it's getting late I have to go! Catch ya later! Will you be here tomorrow to teach me more?'' He declared with a mischievious grin.
''No promises, but the next time I get a chance to visit, I will.'' The noble would whisper with a smile as she waved the boy off. The silver-haired shinigami turned around and walked towards the other individual that she had stared at for a brief moment earlier. Her eyes were looking away from him on purpose, she hope he had not noticed her staring earlier.

In harmony he'd stand here quite a bit more relaxed than he had been a moment ago. The silence of this place was rather fitting for a laid back Shinigami such as Koen and just laid back was enough with him to lead into Lazy. The boots fitting onto his feet would bounce from the ground beneath him as he turned slightly, the chatter of a female rolling through his head and apparently breaking the silence that he had so easily embraced. The odd noises he'd been wondering of had come to cease - cleansing itself from his mind for now at least. His head had yet to turn into her direction for the distance had him wondering now. Just how long would these Flames plow through his head? Though eventually it would halt mattering it seemed like it still required some sort of clear answer. Maybe the paranoia from his demise had been getting to him?
Hands now dangling at his sides while a slight bit of chatter would roll through his mind again, this time the voice of a child? Not until they vanished for a few moments would he turn into the direction of the disturbance, curious of the two who'd decided to speak off. An eyebrow perching as he eyed one who had very much begun stepping in his direction would lead him into wonder, why exactly. So stuck in himself... Always wondering and questioning the obvious and things that didn't need such questioning. Almost as if he couldn't help it would this shake from his pores like the sad nightmares he'd m"braced throughout the months and long horrible years after his leap from existence to the Real World. He'd swallow and watch at this point as she stepped on, closer and closer. Like he wanted to run away, the feeling in his gut arousing... Like he'd been kicked - Nervous Much?
"Aye"! he'd exclaim nervously. Had been quite a while, since someone last 'approached him'.

Aye!
The word came as a surprise to Meimu as she turned around, her eyes meeting with those of the man that had called out to her. Silver curls settled upon her shoulders as she stopped moving, her hands falling to her hips, clenching them tightly. Her skin lightly blushed around her cheeks but other than that nothing betrayed any emotion the young girl could have had. A silver eyebrow gently rose higher than it sister as she wondered why the stranger had greeted her in such a way. Did she know him? She clearly did not recognise him. Was he talking to her? She could not see, nor feel anyone else close to both of them.
''Do you greet everyone in such a fashion?'' She would ask calmly as her cheeks reverted to their original color and her brow levelled itself.
Of course the other probably did not know who she was, or of her lineage. The noble smiled gently as her left hand slowly travelled to her hip. She was in the Rukongai, maybe he was going to attempt to steal something from her. Other than her Zanpakuto, the shinigami had little of value on her. Tightening her grasp on the white hilt of her sword, the young Hakuchou stared once more into the silver eyes of the other. She would still her breath, controlling the intake of air within her lungs, calming her nerves.
''Do I know you?'' She would inquire, her voice still calm, she was not the type to fight unless it was needed, and maybe this individual had no ill intent towards her.

As thought, she couldn't have been aiming in his direction. She'd stop and turn but the nervous feeling he got would vanish as he formulate an excuse to have called out to her in such a way in the first place. With no sort of clue what he'd been thinking would he swallow, oxygen flowing quickly into his mouth like a vacuum as his heart began to thrust itself up against the inside of his chest. A clumsy maniac was he? Surely the thought had passed through his head a number of times now and he wasn't even to bother trying to get rid of it. What was clear however, was the fact that she'd been pretty cute - Silver hair to match those of his own Birth Beams and a Zanpaktou? Maybe she'd been - clearly she was. The look had identified such and the feeling just radiating, pushing from her direction even said so.
"No, actually I don't heh." he'd speak lightly, his left hand traveling through the disfigured crimson mass over his eyes. "But your hair is quite a sight - My eyes with ease match." The words would travel off his tongue quickly as he took a small step forward. With a chance he'd gotten himself into something he couldn't handle, he would smirk and brush off the worry he'd begun to consume with a shrug, eyes closing momentarily as his right hand lowered and with a click of his rings - attached itself to the hilt of his blade in a non-offensive manner. Rather something to sit his hand on for the awkward moment that had assumed itself here. His curiosity for her answer would grow even though he wanted to turn and split at this point... But shit happens when you assume you're laid back and call out like a fool to the people of the world when you don't even know them. In no way did she even look familiar and so the words would push through his head slowly, "What the hell was I THINKIN!?"

Not only was the man not that much of a talker, when he did open his mouth he spoke oddly or said peculiar things. She did not want to upset him with her words, she was rarely in this section of the Soul Society unless it was to aid the wounded or when she was taking her periodic trips to this particular district to teach the Reaitsu users basic spirtiual manipulation. She also rarely spoke with adults of the Rukongai unless they were other shinigami yet the man in front of her did not seem like a shinigami. Meimu rolled her eyes momentarily before placing both of her hands together, her fingers knitting themselves together in a small ball as she bowed quickly and curtly in front of the man.
''I am Meimu, Meimu of the Hakuchou.'' The petite shinigami whispered as she rose back from her bow to straighten her back.
Once she had introduced herself, the girl waited for the other to introduce himself if he would. Her cerulean hues would remain upon his face, trying to figure out what he was thinking, who he was.

He'd find the moment a bit more quizical than that of the usual, his eyes shutting momentarily as he somewhat shunned himself for the choice of words found. Though it hadn't been spoke on he could tell that this look that was resting dormant in her eyes were something entirely different from that of what he'd seen in the past. Even though it was like this however, he wouldn't let it bother for she had spoken her name - one that seemed a bit interesting at the least to him. Eyes narrowing as his hand lifted to his chin, beams turning to the skies as he thought quickly whether he had heard this name before, he'd speak to himself within the mind absolutely sure of his answer for it was truth and nothing more - of course nothing less all the same "Nope, no recognition..."
His eyes flowing back down to her own as she bowed her head, this was something he didn't actually like. Though it was all in respect it didn't seem to be required within his presence - made him feel as though one were belittling themself somehow. A small smile would grace his lips and he'd nod his head lightly all the while his non moved hand would remain upon his Zanpaktou. A split moment would rest in between the two before Koen made it his own job to break it, the oddessy needing some sort of shattering quickly and the Swordsman wouldn't mind giving it, not the slightest bit. Breaths light, calm as usual, he would speak quickly within a friendly manner, lips parting and voice smooth as the moment had arrived.
"I see... Well I am Toienka, Koen." he would note quickly, swallowing after. "What brings you to Rukongai? - If you don't mind my asking that is."

He would finally present a name, one that Meimu was completely unfamiliar with. Her thin lips curled into a gentle smile as she nodded at his words, welcoming the fact that he was comfortable enough around her to share his name. Some people, like most of her family, we not willing to give their names to complete strangers as they deemed themselves higher than others, superior in some way. The young Hakuchou had been taught these many lessons throughout her life, yet being in the Fourth Division had changed her mind. She had been there, spoiled beyond recognition, but being forced to aid others had changed her. She cared about the people around her, especially those that had little chance of getting out of trouble alone.
''I come to Rukongai from time to time to teach potential Spiritual Users how to use their Reaitsu.'' Meimu explained hoping that the other shinigami would not have a problem with this. Night had crept around them and it was almost time for them to head back to the barracks where they would rest. Or where she would need to rest, she was unsure what Kaen had to do. His lack of shinigami clothing could be a hint of him not being in service at that precise time.
''What are you doing here?'' She would ask, her cerulean eyes now looking into those of Kaen.

A fair and interesting reason she'd speak of being here. Teaching young ones to use their reiatsu correctly was a pretty cool thing a person could do, of course Koen himself wouldn't bother doing such a thing and not because he wasn't a fan of helping young ones in this manner exactly but more because he had come to a slight disliking of the kind. They seemed to disrupt his natural... flow? Though, he would nod his head as a slight smile would climb its way onto his lips while he'd wondered what exactly she had thought to decide on teaching young ones to perform their little reiatsu thing. If it was some sort of secret it was completely safe with him and would in no way slip from his teeth for he wasn't a fan of talking of people behind their backs. It had come to be found as an insult to him in some manner - a sign of disrespect and unworthiness. Dishonor before Betrayal it is eh?
The split moment that had lasted here where no words would spring from his tireless tongue would be used for him to place a hand of his atop his head as thought processed through the mind within. Her words of the curious type as he had been and like any respectful and non enclosed people would he reply with truth. Swallowing a bit beforehand, he would lower the lifted hand and part his lips slowly as his words formulated correctly into the direction of the stiff female, Meimu.
"I was just roaming, wondering..." he would pause, his silver glassy windows aiming to the earth to Meimu's left. "These voice...noise in my head. Where they were coming from hah." He would speak, his voice calm yet a tad bit disturbed by the speech and very thoughts of what he had been talking of. Eventually and hopefully he'd come to find out where and what these voices and strange noises were coming from and the reason why they'd been disturbing his peace. The first life was trouble enough - somewhat. He didn't need a second to show him exactly how and why now...

Again, the man's words would force the young Hakuchou to raise her left eyebrow higher than the right one as her cerulean optics settled once more upon his face. She could not figure out why Kaen was so peculiar. His words, which usually would be attributed to someone who suffers from a mental disorders left his lips and travelled to her ears, for a moment she did not answer, wondering if she had truly understood what he meant. He was hearing voices. Were these voices similar to what Takuya had heard, the shinigami had told her that he had been hearing his Zanpakuto speaking to him, it was an event that happened to all Shinigami that were about to attain the level of Shikai. One needed to get in contact with his Zanpakuto's inner spirit to be able to release it for battle. Was Kaen close to the releasing of his blade also? Or were the voices strictly in his head.
''Voices in your head, what do you mean?'' She asked trying to hide her confusion and surprise and the whole awkwardness that she felt.
Meimu placed her back against the wall, her head turning towards Kaen. She would wait for his answer, unsure if he would give an answer at all, yet she waited.

His eyes would begin to stray from the figure of the female in front of him, his mind aiming for some sort of answer to her question. What did he mean, actually. A question in all honesty that he couldn't even answer with a straight face--the confusion would've leaked through every break in his words and there was nothing he could do about it. The noise seemed awkward, differing at times and usually ending up frustrating him or causing his temperature to rise. What he had gotten into was completely confusing...if it truly had been something /he/ had gotten himself into in the first place. Though his eyes would lay back upon this female's own, he wouldn't yet speak for he had begun to think on about what he should say. He'd wanted the words to be clear and quite understandable. Almost turning away while his hand would be planted onto the hilt of his Zanpaktou, he'd grin slightly:
"I'm not sure exactly. At times it's this noise of fire burning and crunching wood. At others it's these cries of some female it sounds like.... And others, both. It's weird... Just can't pin point where it's coming from exactly. My head really, or....somewhere else hah."

The Hakuchou listened intently on what the other had to say. That was one of her many talents, she was a listener, it helped her when she was in the Academy, she could memorise what the teachers thought easily. She had yet to hone this skill for battle though, she was unsure how being a good listener could come in handy while fighting, especially against foes that were experts and producing no sound, at striking shinigami while hidden in the shadows. Meimu had never given much thought to the ability, it was just that, one of her attributes, it did not make her stand out in anyway, it just made her Meimu. She would nod, unsure of what to think of the noises he would hear in his head.
''Well I have this friend... He told me that before being able to release his blade's spirit he could hear its voice calling to him.'' She would explain calmly. It was quite reassuring that Kaen was so willing to speak of the voices within him, and she was ready to help him out if he needed the help. She was of the 4th Division they were trained to give help to all others.

He'd stand idle after she'd spoken her words, something a spirit of the blade trying to talk to him. Though he'd known such would eventually happen it never occurred to him that it was possible to happen this way... He wasn't even too sure if it could happen this way. Obviously it seemed to be happening already anyways. It could be this blade of his talking to him in such a weird way but it could also be something else calling out to him, it was simply the matter of figuring out what it was that bothered him a deal of the time. All of the time quite honestly. His mind seemed to had fallen from the subject, gave up on even caring of what this voice was calling to him since it didn't seem like this was a "call" really. The sound of flame and crunching wood? Screams and cries that could shatter the ears of a man the moment it begun? It did seem a bit confusing and would continue to for some time...but there was no remedy as of yet.
Eyes narrowing onto the female who had tried something in the region of helping, he would swallow before beginning to think a bit more on what was happening and what was to happen if anything. An endless amount of visuals would pop into his mind, the possibilities near ridiculously endless...he would take a small step forward before his left index finger found his chin and a few small breaths would be released from his mug as he readied to speak on the subject he'd so intensely begun to think on. This was a matter that he needed to take care of himself and hopefully by the time he did it would come to a great fall, at least halting or quieting down a bit in his head. It didn't matter to him how much pain it caused him as long as it had calmed itself, kept a bit quiet. It made him feel as though he were a...cripple. Maybe he was... He'd slowly been losing sight of the light....losing his mind, maybe.
"I see...but I don't get it. It doesn't sound like something a Manifestation would do. Buh what do I know? This is ridiculous..."

''You should not say it is ridiculous.''
Meimu explained as her hands settled upon her lap, her eyes now staring away from Kaen. He was quite the odd fellow, he made her slightly uncomfortable and the sun had now set by now, it would seen be time to give the man her farewells and leave. There was little left to say. Hopefully the next time both shinigami would meet it would be on friendly terms. The young Hakuchou pass by Kaen now, what she had planned to do since she had been finished talking with the kids. Before completely leaving she would turn around and speak once more in her usual clear and calm voice, making sure that he would be able to hear her.
''It was a pleasure to meet you Kaen-san. I hope to meet you again soon.''
And with that she disappeared in the shadows, making her way back to Seireitei.

As if being lost wasn't enough, he now had to be lost all on his own to figure out the mystery that these noises in his mind were. It had gotten quite complicated since that little battle and now he was here lost in wonder - confused about almost anything while the words of the female would slither through his ears and reach for some sort of understanding as to why this couldn't or rather shouldn't have been considered ridiculous. Caressed by the breath of Rukongai he would lift his left hand to his chin and lightly stroke before rising it a bit higher and pushing it through the crimson soft mass atop his head, his eyes would close momentarily as such had been done though his heart wouldn't stop the slight pounding. Eyes twirling behind their lids his mind would continue to surf on thought, the figure that had been this female vanishing from its position as he slowly opened these eyes again.
At this point she had walked past him and decided to turn back for a bit more speech... It had been well meeting him and for a hope to see him again in the future? All he could do was place a small smile along the lips of his and nod slightly. It had been a bit odd meeting her in such a way as this and having her think he'd been mentally disturbed? But maybe she hadn't thought something such as this. Either way it hadn't truly helped his little situation. Until a solution was granted he would be lost in this spiraling mystery that these voices and noises in his head brought. He hadn't the slightest of an idea what to think, what to believe. But eventually he would come to figure it out, maybe....hopefully? He could only wonder - but from such a point would he himself depart, searching again.
Exit!
