''What type of music do you like?''
The sun was slowly setting upon Karakura Town. In its River Park, the shadows were slowly stretching out. It was an odd point of day, the treshold of change. The day would slowly morph into the night. Crouching near one of the trees was a blonde girl, her large earphones placed around her neck. Straight, golden locks fell to the middle of the girl's back, her bangs covered her left hair momentarily as she spoke, seemingly to herself. Yet she was not deranged, no. She was speaking to the dead. This was not a sample of one of those movies like Sixth Sense. No, Myriam was real, the spirit she was speaking to was as real as she yet in transition between life and death. Back in Paris, the young girl could also see spirits, yet they were only faint apparitions, subtle images. But in this specific town she had learned to further develop her spiritual sense, she was now able to communicate with them.
''My father, he kept playing Elvis when I was alive...I feel like this was a century ago. Is he still alive?'' The small boy said.
''I have a song or two on my Ipod of Elvis I think...'' Myriam Roze whispered as she took out the instrument and ran her thumb along its tactile screen, the displayed songs rushing by as she flicked her digit. She chose the song and soon a song from an almost forgotten era played. The young boy smiled, as he started shaking his hips from side to side similar to how the King of Rock had once done it. The girl smiled as she gently ran her fingers through her bangs, revealing both of her emerald hues simultaneously.
''I'm glad you like haha.''

It was the fourth time - the forth time his ears piqued and hair's on his arm stood from the familar feeling. There was another one about, another human with abnormal abilities they shouldn't have - another anomaly in the system that had been functioning so well until now. Karakura Town had somehow been the center of all this also, another fact which would one day help everyone understand why. Nevertheless, it was his duty to meet the person, and if not enlightened bring them up to speed. Their reiatsu was weak and unrefined, but leagues above a normal human's. Hollow's also could sense this, and because of that the person was likely to be attacked.
Thrice it had been the same formula, Thermidor literally rescuing the human from certain death just in the nick of time every time. He couldn't help hoping this time would be different, if he could only have a simple exchange with the human - a simple conversation. He focused most of his energies in the task of searching for the human's reiatsu, his ears acting almost like a compass where a ping's pitch told him if he was going in the right direction.
Some time passed as he walked about searching before he came upon a peculiar sight. A girl was talking to a plus out in the open, his search had come to an end. He tried to keep thoughts of how the pair did not get attacked out of his head and instead focused on their immense amount of luck. He approached the girl first, acting as if he couldn't see the plus, standing next to her for a time before speaking.
"Hmm. Who are you talking to?"

The young boy continued dancing for a while, it even became somewhat uncomfortable for Myriam who could not bring herself to break the moment of happyness for the plus. A second being would make its presence, startling the young DJ. Myriam quickly got up to her feet, her long locks flying into the rising breeze as she faced the boy before her. Emerald hues met with another pair, this time of bright blue. She would quickly look away towards the boy that she had been conversing with. He had vanished, he too seemed to have been startled and had decided to flee not wanting to face what force had disturbed both the music lover and the spirit itself. Eyes falling quickly back to her Ipod she decreased the volume with a quick flick of her thumb once more and with another the piece of technologie had been turned off and placed inside her purse.
Placing her left hand in her jeans' pocket while her right hand went to pat her hair, to try and make sure no hair were out of place Myriam tried to explain what she was doing. She needed to find a quick excuse to not pass off as a weirdo. Had she been in the silver-haired boy's place she would have simply walked away not wanting to talk to someone who seemed to be talking to themselves. Yet Myriam had been gifted with the ability to see and speak with the dead.
''I was actually just... singing my songs out loud, it happens a lot when I'm alone. I really zought I was alone.'' The young girl explained. Her french accent was virtually non-existant except for when she needed to pronounce the 'th' sound. The sound, never made while speaking French had been difficult to master and was virtually the only weakness in her speech. She hoped that her excuse would be swallowed, the boy was surprisingly good looking, her eyes scanned the park, they seemed alone.

"You don't have to lie." He'd interject, speaking over the pervasive silence."There was someone just standing here with you. It was a little boy, except not anymore. It was a plus; a spirit of a boy who has long died."
His position altered relative to the tree so he could lean against it, his back pressing against it, his foot moving to be placed flat against the trunk for greater support. He acted as if the news was nothing because it was nothing to him, being born into the world with this knowledge being the first thing imparted to him. A smile filled his features as he pointed at his eyes with his middle and index finger of his right hand to get across his point.
"You see, I can see them too."
The same hand that did the motion pointed over to the distance, to the boy-spirit which was kneeling near the water, yanking at the chain which emanated from his chest.
"He shouldn't do that. If that comes off he's going to transform into something horrible.."
Perhaps the girl could talk some sense into the plus, or at least that was the rationale in pointing out the ordeal to her.

The boy's words rang loudly in her mind as she tried to make sense of what he was saying. If he was right, he took could see the passing spirits. Did this mean that he also had another ability like hers? She had only met another person with similar abilities than hers, and that was her father's which had taught her how to hone the abilities that seemed to derive from the Greek ring. Returning her gaze to the boy before her, Myriam took a deep breath, it seemed as if her questions about the attractive young boy would need to be put on hold. The boy that she had been talking to was now by the water, yanking at the chain that was coming out of his chest. The sight was grueling and testing for Myriam's nerves. She had no idea what was going on, she had never seen one of the dead do such a thing.
After the older boy had explained to her that the chain should not be yanked or else the boy would transform, the young Apollon ran forward towards the boy, her long golden locks whipping about behind her as she rushed to his side. Her fingers wrapped themselves around the boy's forearms as she tried to stop him from continuing destroying himself.
''What are you doing? Why are you doing zis!?!'' Myriam cried, trying to stop the boy from turning into the horrible thing that the human had hinted at.
Why was he not helping her in stopping the boy from what he was doing?

It was his nature to read into what people were thinking, eying the female as she looked at him intently. "Why am I not helping you?" He spoke rather coldly, watching her struggle with the boy. "I don't interfere with the natural processes of a plus. It is their choice whether or not they want to transgress into Hollow. It is simply my duty to exterminate them should they do so."
It was the cold hard truth that he spoke to her, experimenting with the human threshold for emotion. He did not hope for her to understand his position, but merely to know it. He was imparting information in the most efficient way possible. There was no need for emotional interference, only truth.
"If it does happen, if he does transgress, you will understand."
His hand extended forward as it brought forth radiant blue light, the outline of his weapon of choice, a simple handgun, showing before it became completely.

''HIS CHOICE!?!?''
Myriam continued wrestling with the spirit, the boy was surprisingly agile and fast in his movements as he continued tearing at the chain at his chest. The young girl's golden locks whipped from side to side as she tried to gain control over the kid's limbs. But as the last cracking sound erupted, no chains were left and the boy's limbs fell numbly upon the ground. The French girl rose to her feet, crossing the distance between herself and the stranger that had been speaking to her, Myriam's cheeks were now bright red, she was not shy, no she was furious, her arms now cupped in small fists. Green hues were now fuelled with a new emotion, hate.
''His choice? He is a dead child, no one to guide him to the afterlife, is there even an afterlife? Heaven? Limbo? Hell?'' The young Apollon spoke.
She was completely oblivious to what was going on behind her. Would the child change and mutate to what the stranger had prophecied would go completely unnoticed by the angry DJ. Soon her ability would finally manifest itself to the boy, would he even notice the change in spiritual energy it would probably be too late. Through her vocal cords reaitsu was mixed, the spiritual energy coarsing through the air until it entered the boy's ears and made its way to his cerebellum, his balance and vision would both be affected first as the effects of intoxication would overcome him as if he had taken too many drinks.
''If you feel sick, you should take a seat I'm just starting.'' She would say, knowing full well that her ability had taken control of the boy's body.

He had made the female angry, that was for sure, but he unexpected happened as she became so. Of course he could notice even the latent spiritual energy begin to be created and manipulated by the human, lucky for him his gun had already been manifested. As she spoke, the reiatsu seemed to resonate, and to his surprise upon hearing her speech he began to feel a bit light-headed.
"Stop." He'd command, allowing time for her to do so, before his gun would raise to arm level, aiming somewhere around her torso. He would make sure to compensate for his ability level and hers before firing, attenuating the bullet to feel like a mere punch when it hit her, seeking to snap her out of it more than hurt her.
There would be another noise besides the clamorous boom of his gun as it went off - an ominous howl which emanated from the plus. The howl seemed to turn into a scream and then a roar as time passed by, his body slowly erupting into a black sort of goop veiling it's former boyish form. The boy spirit had begun the transgression cycle, it's spirit turning into something less - something primordial and fierce. There was no stopping the process now, and no stopping the soul until it transformed. He had hoped she had come to her senses and watch the process. This would be her enlightenment.

The DJ's emerald eyes widened in surprise as the man that was before her pointed his gun at her, threatening to shoot her would she not stop using her ability. The minute her speaking had stopped so would the spell that had been cast upon the man's senses. Soon any symptom that he had felt would slowly dissipate. Odd noises were produced from behind, forcing Myriam to pivot on her heels, her eyes settling on the transforming figure. ''It's true.'' It was clear than the gun-man was more knowledgeable when it came to these monsters than she was. She would quickly move out of the gun's range and hurried behind the silver-haired boy, her hands still forming small fists. She had trained during her past in self defence yet she wondered how much of those lessons would serve her in such a situation.
''Why...Why is the balance so cruel?'' The blond-haired human whispered, her face had lost some of its color, her eyes still as wide as they could become naturally. The transformation still continued before their eyes and the girl wondered how much her own father knew about the event that was going on before her, did he know that such happenings occurred so close to their home? It had been over a year that the blonde had accepted her gift and had known that there were grander things than the average human comprehension for example the spirits that she could see. But that they could transfigure and transform into hideous beasts? Not even her nightmares had imagined such a crude fate for he dead she saw.
''Where...Where is my place in this order?'' Myriam whispered to herself, not even sure if the gun-man had heard her.

"Just an anomaly. . " He'd continue, as he began walking forward toward the pair - both the human female and her near-hollow comrade. "That is your place in the order. Quite frankly I've determined that it may be the genesis of Advents that has caused this odd imbalance to begin. That's what you're kind is called by the way, an Advent Human."
His gait could continued steadied as his hand manifested what would look like a magazine for his handgun, slamming it into the chamber, before snapping the mechanism back that loaded the first bullet into the chamber. A bright blue hue seemed to begin to smoke out of the barrel as he aimed it square at the boy's forehead, his eyes cold. The boy's cries would cease as he fully embraced the darkness in his heart, attaining a form most diabolical, his mask fully appearing on his face. The trigger would be pulled thrice - bam, bam, bam.
"I'm sorry."
His hold of the gun would release as the gun faded away in a mass of photons that rose into the atmosphere harmlessly. The boy -- no the hollow, would simply fall limp before seemingly disintegrating, his soul terminated.

An anomaly...
Myriam's eyes widened in fear at the grotesque display before her. The boy had shifted into a demon, a monster born from the darkness of his heart. The white mask, it was such an odd display, its pure ivory suface reminded her of an Oni, the demons of Japanese Legends. Her arms grew weak as they fell to her side, slowly dangling from front to back as if the winds were rocking them about. Sheer terror laced her facial expression. A few of her bangs stuck to her forehead with the now new sweat that had been created from the sheer stress that had been put on her psyche. Yet the nameless gun-man put an end to the monster, three shots would resonate through Myriam's mind.
As the beast disintegrated, a weight somehow vanished from the French girl's chest. The monster had disappeared, taken down by the stranger. Yet was his killer to be trusted? Her fists tightened once more, ready to fight would the need come yet she doubted she could last long enough against the Photon Gun wielder. But in a sense she felt relieved. Not only was the monster killed, but a part of who she was was finally revealed to her. Her kind, what she was, was labelled an Advent Human. She was unsure what that meant, what it entailed, yet at least there was a name given to the people that had superhuman abilities like her own.
''Who... And what are you? You know so much.'' The girl demanded, the breeze picking up once more, her hair slowly dancing around her body in gentle whips. She took a deep breath, she had so many questions about what had happened.

Both the hand that ended the monster and it's twin were both moved into their respective pockets are he eyed the female for a second. She seemed to be inquisitive, asking many questions, seeking answers to the riddle that was her new life. He would answer them for now, accepting the role to play.
"Quincey, Neo-Quincey." He'd pause for a second to grasp how to explain it to someone as new to the ways as she. "Human, but not. Born to a lineage of people who have made it their design to rid the world of these monsters."
Another pause, she hadn't asked enough questions for him to continue answering, he had one of his own. "My name is Thermidor, odd as the name may be, and yours?"
His non-dimensional dimensions expanded as he focused the reiatsu that was formerly used to power his gun into hiding his prescience, and being bale to preemptively detect any others. The site of a dead Hollow gave off much residual spiritual energy, other hollows would assuredly move in, they had to move on soon.

A Neo Quincey. She had never heard of such a term before. It was quite mysterious to Myriam this whole new concept. She doubted that she could find any information on his people through an ordinary library. She was doomed to have her questions answered only by asking them to the Quincey, yet would he be willing to answer every question she possessed? Why was he wasting his time on her, she was but another anomaly. Emerald hues momentarily moved away from Thermidor. She finally knew him name, it seemed as if it was a foreign name, he probably came from out of the country like she.
''I am Myriam.'' The young blonde girl answered, yet she said it as if it was not important, as if the next few things she wanted to say else more importance to her.
''Quincey, Monsters, Advent Humans. It's just so much information. What was the boy's choices? Could he have gone to paradise or hell? Are there such places? Am I going to die?'' Myriam asked, she was clearly nervous about her fate. Now that she knew that she was an Advent Human, did this make her a target? Was she doomed as the child had been?

As his dragnet was setup, his extra-sensory perception completely in tune with the environment he returned his attention to the girl. Again, she seemed to have a knack for asking the correct questions, her question a good one. He fidgeted some as he changed position, searching for something to lean against. A railing adjacent from the pair guarding people from falling into the water would serve this purpose.
"The boy could have lived an eternity here on earth as a plus. Or if a shinigami had met him, been purified and taken to what you humans would understand to be the 'other side', 'heaven', 'nirvana' - or whatever you'd like to call it. We don't have much time, ask any more questions you'd like answered. . ."
The time was ticking away and his role was nearly complete. There were few more questions he could answers he could answer adequately without her experiencing left. She was not the only advent human left for him to enlighten, there were many more. Not to mention there were still many hollows about preying on the lowly humans of Karakura. It was almost time for his exit.

Myriam's eyes widened in surprise. Was he telling the truth? A certain being which seemed separate from the monsters, Quincey and Advent Humans dictated where the souls would go? They were the ones to decide if they would remain on Earth, to roam alone or if they would move to the other world? What logic was this? Who were these people that took such decisions? Were they monsters similar to the one the young boy had turned into? So many questions, but where to start, and which ones would she had time to ask? Thermidor seemed to imply that they did not have much time, she had no idea why, the night had only barely begun, unless he meant that something would be happening would their meeting not stop.
''What is a shinigami?'' Myriam asked somewhat confused about the whole ordeal. She still had many more questions but it seemed as if they would remain unanswered.
''What are you going to do now?'' She would also ask, She was unsure if this had anything to do with her enlightenment, yet Myriam wanted to know more about Thermidor, where he was from, did he go to school? Not only were questions about this new life plaguing her thoughts, but so were questions about the mysterious gunman.

His legs lifted him from his seated position atop the guard rail, as he watched her mouth her questions. "A shinigami is just as implied. A death-god whose job it is to ferry souls to the other side. A death-gods weapon, a zanpakuto, purifies. A quincey's weapon, a reibuki, eradicates."
He'd begin his walk away from the girl toward his home, which he now found was placed conveniently. What would he do? There would be no rest for him, he would only go home to look upon his map of Karakura to plot his route for patrol his evening. There were still many hollow that needed to be killed, and many advents to be enlightened.
"I will be doing my daily patrols. There are many advents who need guidance like yourself, and many hollow who seek an easy morsel. I'll be around - watching your growth - never more than a step away."
A single hirenkyaku would take him into the skies, and a second allow him to seemingly fly off into the distance. Would she be okay? He wondered.

It seemed as if Thermidor had enough time answer a few more questions. He made sure to explain who were the Shinigami. She had yet to meet one, but when she would, she would know what they were about. She wondered if her power could affect them like other humans or if she would have more trouble doing it like she had with Thermidor. Did this mean that every Quincey would be able to repel her effects or was it only Thermidor? He seemed powerful, he had taken out the Hollow quickly with a single hit. Myriam shook her head, her eyes lowering to where the Hollow had been before it had been vanquished.
Myriam would slowly walk away from the scene of the invisible battle. Hoping that something like that would never happen to her again, yet she knew, deep down that she was not done, she was far from seeing the end of this.
