The city lights that lined the pathways of the Karakura city park illuminated the twisting labrynth that cut through the park. The pathways were lined with public benches and trash cans, and little trees that were tied to the ground. Not as much fun as climbing a building, but, hey, sometimes it's good to rest.
Kostya walked through the park in his Gigai, wearing his red shirt and denim blue jeans. He took a sip of vodka before throwing the empty bottle on the ground near a trash can. He exhaled and sat on the bench. He was surprised that he didn't see any of his classmates here, and with all the shinigami around, he doubted there would be any hollows or pluses around here.
A good night just to relax. As he sat down on a bench, he felt the container of soul candy that he uses to become a Soul Reaper once again. He looked up at the sky to see a star-filled blackness. He wondered if he still saw the same sky if he were still in the Rukongai.
He pondered the thought, then gave up on it. Tonight was a time to sit back and enjoy life, because at any second, it could be devoured.

It was not unheard of for people to walk along these paths at night, walking simply for no reason than to relax and view the night sky. The stars and the sky had a calming effect to them, as if they could release themselves as they simply walked. The small Hollow would be interested in these people, moving from tree to tree as he viewed the people from a distance. Though he could not communicate with them, he knew that they held the secret to his existence.
It would be then that Etori would feel something, a Shinigami; they were capable of emotion such as human yet where not living. This intrigued the shy Hollow more than the habits of people, for they could potentially speak if they where not filled with rage; he would move himself towards the Shinigami and watch it from behind a nearby tree, not gathering enough courage to make an approach or to speak. He had a right to fear though, the Shinigami where known to strike Hollows without warning.

Shit...where'd the hollow go? Kokaku was chasing a hollow, a mother fucking fast leopard-like hollow to word it precisely. Despite the fact that Kokaku did have good speed, the hollow was simply out of his range. He did slow down the hollow with his kido, but that leopard was such a wild beast that he could out-run Kokaku even with after a few bakudo and some wound on his body.
Well, not like Kokaku was perfectly well by himself. He was wounded as well. Luckily, he was just lightly wounded. The chase has reached the five minutes milestone and the leopard charged into the Karakura Park. This place was perfect for the hollow, in such a moonless night, there's just not enough lighting for Kokaku. Then, there's the bunch of trees scattered all around the park that would make Kokaku's job harder.
Guess I would rely on my reiatsu sense then. Kokaku charged into the park, sensing all over the area to determine the hollow's location. This hollow was not bad at concealing its reiatsu but still, he sensed it faintly. He rushed from spot to spot but everywhere seemed to be empty. Then, he arrived where another comrade of himself was sitting. "Er...excuse me, did you see a hollow around here?" Kokaku said it slowly while gasping for air at the same time. He closed his reiatsu sense for a moment, giving his mind some rest. |

Kostya heard a rustle in the leaves behind him, and his head whipped around. He looked for any sign of a hollow, he knew he had to assume it was one. He couldn't sense anything, though, as he wasn't strong enough to feel reiatsu. He heard footsteps rapidly approaching, and he looked to see a fellow shinigami coming his way.
"I always find it that someone should introduce themselves before asking questions. I am Kostya Takashi, unseated of the Seventh Squad. And, no, I have not seen your hollow. However, I did hear something rustling in the trees behind me, I have reason to believe that that might be a hollow."
He took a soul candy dispenser from his pocket, popped it in his mouth, and fell out of his gigai. His body ran off somewhere to hide, and Kostya was in his Shinigami form.
"Let's go look for him." He said, his eyes scouting the area ahead.

Etori would watch as a second Shinigami would speak to the first that he had been watching; something that was likely not good for the small Hollow in general. If one Shinigami attacked Etori would likely be able to outmaneuver it, but being attacked by two Shinigami was like a death sentence. He wanted to speak to the two Shinigami but lacked the courage to do so, fearing death. So, without much hesitation, the small Hollow would utilize one of his abilities; wrapping reiatsu around himself in order to turn invisible. He would then slowly move away from the tree he had been hiding behind before as the two Shinigami would make their way towards it. Since they had not likely spotted the Hollow it was unlikely that they would even know it was invisible, or even had ever been there at all. Name: Escondite
Level: Average
Description: Wrapping nearby reiatsu around himself, Etori will no longer bounce light off of his body and will instead wrap around his body and onto the other side seamlessly. This causes him to become invisible for a period of time, unable to be seen by normal eyes that can see without light. Anyone viewing this technique will see straight through Etori, seeing whatever is beyond him. This also prevents Etori from creating a shadow or the like since light travels 'through' him. This lasts for two posts before it wears off and must wait two further posts before it can be used again.

Kokaku sighed at the response of his fellow shinigami, "Well, I don't think a policeman have time to introduce themselves if they are chasing a criminal. Instead, they will just run off at whatever direction you gave him. However, since I believe the hollow is already gone from this area at the time you are answering my question, guess I have time to introduce myself now. Kokaku Nishimura, unseated, 8th division. And if you say there's a hollow on the trees behind, then let's go then, I am up." As soon as Kokaku said so, mister Kostya was out of his body, now a full-form shinigami.
Entering the trees behind him, they found nothing suspicious. "It seems like there's no hollow, heck, not even a mouse or insect." Kokaku was losing hope, and decided to close his eyes to use his senses. Initially, he intended to sense for the hollow he was chasing but then, he found another reiatsu nearby to his position.
"There's a hollow, I could sense it but I don't see it physically. How about we scare it out?" Kokaku whispered and extended his left hand outward, index finger pointing at the direction of the reiatsu but not precisely the position of the invisible hollow. After all, Kokaku didn't see him. He was just testing. "Hado no Yon: Byakurai." Chantless, a white beam pierced through leaves all around and created a cleat path toward the direction of the hollow. It would not hit the hollow, probably just around it if the hollow stood still.

Description: The user gathers a tiny amount of reiatsu to the fingertip of their dominant index finger, extending it outward along with the middle finger. The other fingers are folded into the palm. The fingertip will swell with blue-white energy before exploding forward in a narrow, piercing beam of white lightning-like reiatsu, capable of punching holes through opponents.

So there WAS a hollow... I can't sense it; I haven't learned how to do that. However, I shouldn't inform my comrade as I do not want our enemy to overhear our weakness... Kostya scoured the treeline for an enemy hollow, but couldn't find one. He slowly took out his blade, ready to take on anything if it decided to attack from behind or above. He continued to look through the treeline, searching desperately for the hollow.
He decided to rely on sound and smell, so he closed his eyes and tried to hear the hollow. He knew that he wasn't a great listener, but he could listen if he actually paid attention. He continued to listen for anything, but couldn't hear anything.
Hopefully the Hollow wasn't smart enough to notice that Kostya was a weak Shinigami.

Etori watched, observing the actions of the Shinigami about 15 meters in front of him. This was a dangerous situation and fear of death began to tug heavily upon the small Hollow, yet curiosity kept him there; he knew that he was unseen for the moment, as voiced by one Shinigami. "It seems like there's no hollow, heck, not even a mouse or insect." The same Shinigami would tehn stop and wait for a moment, focusing. "There's a hollow, I could sense it but I don't see it physically. How about we scare it out?" The other Shinigami would stop and close his eyes, attempting to find Etori; it seemed as though that one was weak compared to the first.
It would be then that the first Shinigami would fire off a technique towards the invisible Hollow; it would not hit since it would be aimed only towards the Hollow's general direction, but it would still get a reaction from the fearful Hollow. "Eeeeee!" Etori would jump at the sudden attack and move away quickly, no doubt such an action would be noticed by the Shinigami. It was now or never, either the Hollow would communicate with the Shinigami or he would run... "S-shinigami, I don't want to c-cause any problems." Though he would say this, he would remain invisible... or at least for another moment or so until the technique would wear off, then the Shinigami would be able to see the Hollow at that point.

"Eeeeee!" Some sound came from the direction his white beam pierced through. Bingo! Kokaku knew he was right about the hollow, his reiatsu sense was doing good. No one would be so deep inside the tree zone after all...except maybe a couple wanted to do their sexy stuff but there's only one reiatsu so that "maybe" was cut-out of the situation.
Sha sha sha, sounds of leafs shaking after some sort of forces touched it, it must be the hollow. However, this one wasn't the one Kokaku seeks, that black panther would have leap out and jump toward him if the hollow hidden was it but this hollow tends to be more on the defensive side, or maybe it was just tricky and this was just part of his plan to devour the shinigamis.
The other shinigami closed his eyes, and Kokaku would not care about him. He was more interested in the hollow. "S-shinigami, I don't want to c-cause any problems." said the hollow. There's no doubt, the voice came from a hollow because ordinary human knows nothing about "Shinigami". "Well, don't try to play tricks with us and you will be fine...no idea on my mate over there but I am not here to fight...you." Kokaku then walked back out of the tree area while keeping an eye on his comrade. It was safer in a open space than in a place full of cover. |

"Eeeeee!" He heard something yell, and opened his eyes. He noticed the rustle of some leaves, and shot towards it. He stopped halfway as the hollow decided to communicate with his fellow shinigami. "S-shinigami, I don't want to c-cause any problems." He expected his friend to rip open the hollow regardless. Kostya was prepared to kill him, but he was going to let his new accomplice take care of him. However, he was extremely shocked when his friend responded, "Well, don't try to play tricks with us and you will be fine...no idea on my mate over there but I am not here to fight...you."
Kostya's eyes widened, and they shot at his friend. "Are you kidding me!?"
He finished his run towards the hollow, and he pushed his sword toward the neck of the thing. He knew that his friend might not find his actions friendly, so he kept one eye on his "friend".
"This is a hollow. I don't think you understand. Hollows, to survive, by nature, must devour souls. No matter what, if we leave this alone, he will devour another soul. It is a proven fact, fellow Shinigami. For you to overlook this is a fatal mistake; a hollow is an enemy, he must be eliminated."
He put his eyes back on this hollow, and put pressure on the blade, meaning to sink through the neck and eliminate it.

Words would be drawn quickly by the ore skilled Shinigami, reacting to Etori's words in a manner favorable to the small Hollow. "Well, don't try to play tricks with us and you will be fine...no idea on my mate over there but I am not here to fight...you." This was a slight relief, all to often was Etori simply attacked on exposure by Hollows, Shinigami, and Humans alike; this was an uncommon occurrence that Shinigami was willing to listen rather than just attack. The cloaked Hollow would give a slightly audible sigh before speaking. "T-thank y-" His words would be cut short as the second Shinigami opposed the idea. "Are you kidding me!?" In an instant the Shinigami would be upon Etori, who would be forced back against a tree as the blade neared his neck. The Shinigami would speak as he watched both Etori and the first Shinigami; it was clear that they had no trust for one another. "This is a hollow. I don't think you understand. Hollows, to survive, by nature, must devour souls. No matter what, if we leave this alone, he will devour another soul. It is a proven fact, fellow Shinigami. For you to overlook this is a fatal mistake; a hollow is an enemy, he must be eliminated."This would give Etori a chance to escape since the Shinigami's attention would be two-fold. Without hardly a sound or motion the Hollow would sink into the tree he had been pressed up against, only once he would be on the other side would he reply. "I-I just don't want to d-die. You would do t-the same." It would be the truth, anyone would rather live than die. People eat animals, Hollows eat humans; to Etori, there would be no difference between the two. Name: Sou

Description: Utilizing the reiatsu throughout Etori's body, his body glows with a soft light and seems to become transparent like a ghost. Etori's body will then become intangible to non-reiatsu based weapons, living beings, and attacks; this allows his body to move through previously solid objects like as if they where made of water, pushing his body through. This can last up to two seconds for a single use and can be used ten times per thread plus twice for each rank.
Restrictions: Only learnable by Etori.

Kokaku simply laughed at his friend's justice, such a lawful shinigami he was. Typical shinigami, similar to the 90% of shinigami in Seireitei. Why couldn't they just relax a bit once in a while? Even when he was laughing, he kept an eye on the hollow, reiatsu sensing was still there to track his movement. "I am not as lawful as you, Kostya-san. First, I might not try as hard as you to get to the hollow. Second, I got another target in mind and I need the assistance of this little hollow over..." Kokaku used his senses and pointed at the correct direction, "There." This wasn't just a normal pointing, he was secretly guiding his comrade to the hollow's position. Deep strategy.
"Third, if you want to survive, which I believe you really want to according to your words, hollow. Then, please tell me if you have seen or sense the reiatsu of your fellow hollow friend, a black panther-lookalike, real fast in speed, around this area? Tell me and you should be at least free from my wrath. Otherwise," Kokaku stopped his words, his left hand raised up and following the hollow's direction, right hand clawing the elbow of his left hand. "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium," A red ball of energy formed inches away from the hand of Kokaku, hanging mid-air and ready for gunfire action, "The sea barrier surges, march on to the south! Hado no Sanjuuichi: Shakkahō!"
The fireball was shot then, and devoured the first tree it came in contact, devouring the area with an explosion. "This is my "otherwise" because I am going to release my wrath on you, mister hollow." His finger still pointing at the hollow's direction, trying to help his comrade to track it down. However, the trees would obstruct the view of his comrade on his hand but oh well, he tried his best to help as a tracker.

Description: The user gathers reiatsu into the palm of their dominant hand, extending their palm forward. The user then places their off hand on their wrist, wrapping their fingers around it. It will explode on contact with anything, much like a grenade or rocket.

Fuckers. [/i] They were about twenty meters or so away, huddled around the figure of a rather pathetic looking Hollow whose intrinsic ability seemed to alter what those saw of him. However, as she left behind the Garganta set to await her group's imminent return, she cared not for his minor skills, but rather the two bullies by him. Always have to gang on us, don’t you…?[/i] They were morsels pumping in delicious spiritual energy, and in her soul’s rebirth, she would discover a new rage that aided her progression. Rosa was lethal now, consciously learning to unlock the powers within whilst paying no mind to distraction. Well gang on this…[/i] Eleven orbs of energy began to form at her sides, perfectly hovering all around her body, scattered in no specific pattern yet reaping terror by simple sight. Once established, two orbs shots out rapidly their way, fired right as one of the black garbed pigs shot his load onto a tree, its explosive contents set to consume all around without remorse; both Shinigami would be no more than a meter or so from the blasts. Description: Coined by the Queen herself, it is the 'Ultimate Defense!'™ By condensing the ammunition from ‘Shot’, Rosa creates a series of suspended glowing orbs, surrounding her body from inches to no more than ten meters all around. Since they are compressed spiritual energy, they are set to detonate in the direction of whatever physical interruption comes their way. Essentially, friend or foe will meet strong damage if they were to come in contact with any of the orbs surrounding her body. Because they are made of her own reiatsu, her body acts as a magnet of the same current, repelling the balls so that it doesn’t hurt her, but still managing to keep them hovering around her even during movement. Finally, Rosa can choose to release at any time an orb from the formation in the form of a normal ‘Shot’, propelled forward as her open palm determined the attack's final location. Enemy attacks can't detonate an orb, but the orbs cannot be used to stop an attack physically, unless their detonation provides enough force to stop the incoming strike. It takes a single turn for an orb to be replaced within S.A.P.A. By default, Rosa can employ 10 orbs to her disposal of any ammo type from 'Shot'; each rank above zero grants her one additional orb. Rosa may spend extra Hollow Points in order to increase the strength of her 'S.A.P.A.' by one level for every point spent.

Tiro – This version of the shot is much more concentrated, so much so that only one blast is needed. This ball is now five inches in diameter, retaining its fast traveling speed, but now able to explode with the power of a grenade. Can travel up to thirty meters at five meters per second. |

Etori would act quickly, pushing his Reiatsu into the tree in order to protect it and himself from the attack. The tree would become transparent, untouchable to everything; the attack would fire straight through the tree and a tree on the far side would be blown apart. The Shinigami would finish his speech, though such words would only cause fear on top of fear for Etori. "This is my "otherwise" because I am going to release my wrath on you, mister hollow." Only moments after would another attack likely hit. The tree Etori was behind, only being unreal for a moment, would absorb any damage that the explosion would have hit Etori with. But the attack's origin would be unknown, where did the attack come from? Did the attack the Shinigami used backfire? Thoughts would run quickly through the small Hollow's mind as he attached himself to the behind of the tree, being near such a sturdy physical object made him feel a little safer. "I-I don't want to d-die!" Fear would set in and Etori would handle it like he always did, he would protect himself. Name: Sin Estado

Description: Pushing his reiatsu into a non-living object for a moment through touch, Etori can cause an object to turn intangible in the same way he does using the Sou ability. Unlike Sou or other abilities, this ability only effects a maximum area from where Etori touches an object and anything, including living creatures, reiatsu, and reiatsu based attacks, can move through the object as though it didn't exist. This can allow anything to travel through a solid object other than just Etori, effecting a 2 meter half sphere from where Etori touches an object. If the technique is turned off while an object is within the effected object then the effected object is displaced, allowing for the object within the afflicted object to remain the same. This can last up to two seconds for a single use and requires a use of Etori's Sou each time used.

Goddamn! The hollow has good skill despite its lack of guts. That goddamn creature just made a tree transparent for a little while and that little while was enough to save itself by forcing the fireball to pass through the tree, which then burned the next tree in the straight travel path. Well, at least Kokaku knew it was behind the tree, that would help because he couldn't really see it until now.
Twist! Just after Kokaku fired his showcase of firepower, he sensed another reiatsu. The black panther? The reiatsu was kind of different...he turned his head to the side and saw some sort of energy ball flying his way. The ball wasn't that fast anyway, Kokaku lowered his legs and leaped away a second before the orb went KABOOM!!! Well, close call. Was it the black panther? Sadly, no. Sadly, this was another hollow. Sadly, this night was a real troublesome night. Sadly, he still have no chance to extract the info of mr.black panther from the hollow behind the tree. And judging by how he reacted to his blast, the hollow wasn't going to tell him anything or the hollow just didn't know.
Kokaku then turned his concentration on the unknown releasing the orb at the area. Now the area was literally, gone. Imagine one location of a city received a hit by a meteor and scale it down - that's exactly what was there in front of Kokaku. A big hole on the ground and grass turned into black pile of ashes. Impressive power. Then, he observed the creator of the orb, it was a hollow...oh wait, this one looks like a human being, so let's use she. She has nine similar orbs surrounding herself right now and Kokaku knew that going near wasn't a good tactic. Well, he wasn't a melee fighter to start with anyway. He then turned his eyes over his comrade there, hurt by the meteor blast from what Kokaku seen. Now, this was not good. The situation turned 180 degree in few seconds.
Kokaku formulated a plan in his mind, but how well could it goes? Kokaku unsheathed his blade and held it with his left hand. Then, he pointed the index finger of his right hand toward the female hollow, a test of her skill, White chariot! Blue soldiers, rustled leaves, thirteen black clouds, unleash the sky! Hado no Yon: Byakurai! The white beam cut through the air easily, flying directly toward the female hollow. What would she do? |

The explosions ravaged the land around Rosa’s victims as expected, though her wicked joy was cut short as she’d witness the escape of one unscathed. Observing carefully the one figure she could not sense earlier, a mental note of his strength was made. So you’re the one…? [/i] However, it mattered not, for her counter was already in motion. A single orb returned to her fleet resulting in ten once more, and as she commanded her body to move, her S.A.P.A. would relocate itself so her back and blind spots were covered. From inches to even a few meters away, it’d appear as if these balls moved behind her at all times. It’s time to feed…[/i] Now, as the moment of truth approached, Rosa would unleash her inner beast, satiated only by the souls of others. Sixteen words, twenty-five syllables; on top of the fact the energy needed to gather for a moment, the ignorant Shinigami’s plea to the god’s would remain ignored, for the target it sought would remain idle no more. Good-bye… It would take no master of speed to avoid such an obvious strike, especially from an opponent who chose to stand still, nineteen meters away. I’d shimmy severely away as the beam of hot energy prepared to pass at my side, and with both hands outstretched, I’d deliver the finishing touches. …And good riddance![/i] The blasts were fired as I moved, one hand dispersing another round of explosive spiritual power passed and behind the Shinigami’s, while the other unleashed a steady stream of smaller, yet deadly projectiles. The hollow that he was trying to kill, the weaker one, the coward,shifted back into the trees. Kostya felt himself cutting into the wood of a tree, and quickly looked around to locate his opponent. He cursed when he couldn't find him, and felt a sense of dread rise over him.
Oh no, it was one of those who think they are badass by not following the rules. Truly, he just looked like an insubordinate in Kostya's eyes. However, the ally was helpful in locating the position of the enemy. Kostya followed the sense of the reiatsu that was being lended to him. All of the sudden, a deafening blast erupted just below Kostya's feet, launching him into the air. Pain exploded into his feet and numbness shortly followed. It slithered up his legs like a million snakes made of ivory thorns, and he noticed that his robes were singed.
He now saw another hollow, one that, to be frank, quite scary. The thing wore a mask to cover her face, and was dressed in some garb that looked like an old pillow case. Kostya tried to stand back up, but pain overuled the numbness, causing him to fall to his knees.
He slowly got to his feet, ignoring the cries of pain that his legs were omitting.
"Damn!"
Not only were there two hollows, but two hollows with devastatingly nice powers.
