The sun was low and setting over the horizon, this ment only one thing to those who wished to really live it up... relaxation. A cloak sat beside a lone Shinigami, it was far too warm to wear such unnecessary clothing. The Shinigami's lips were locked against a small gourd, filled to the brim with the inebriating substance known as Sake. The Shinigami's taste for this substance was the stuff of legend, he could swill down the liquor with the best of them. Human, Quincy, Shinigami alike. It was doubtful that they could overtake his thirst for the rice-based alcohol. His goggles gleaming in a stray beam of light, it shined for what seemed to be miles, possibly being mistaken as a light signal for help.
His hand tipping back the gourd, it was boring today. No Hollows... no enemies... no other Shinigami to interact with. There was no crime today in the Seireitei... like almost every other day. Breaking the rules... the laws of the Soul Society was not common, so what was he to do other than drink? He thought to himself as he replaced the cork in the gourd he drunk from and laid out on his back and watched as the clouds blew in the sky above.

"Ahh my shift ends here. Damn, it was another boring day, where is the adventure in Seiretei." Aya would end her patrol duty with sadness, she wished she could be sent to the real world again to slay some hollow and to show her family how good she was. Waving goodbye to her college she headed towards the Anzu mansion, since it wouldn't be appropriate for a noble such as her to share a tight room with so many at the division's barracks. It was quite a surprise for Aya that they haven't given her a seat yet, after all she was in the advance class. "Oh well I'll have to prove them wrong." she said with determination.
The Anzu mansion was located far from her division and she would have to walk pass several entertainment district until she would arrive home. As usual Aya would take her time walking home, the entertainment district was pretty interesting to her, people had strange games she had never seen before. When she was still at the nobility school they only learned to play shogi which became boring after a dozen matches.
Looking from side to side, she would notice a lone shinigami sitting on the ground (grass) with a cloak beside him. It seemed he was drinking something. "Oh he looks so lonely, maybe I could go and talk to him." it's not like her family would force her to be at home all the time. Walking towards the man she would put a smile on her face so she would look somewhat friendly and then said "What a nice view." she meant the sunset. "May I watch with you?"

"Feel free to. It's a beautiful afternoon... I assume that's what you could call it. It's too early to call it night time I guess." he gave a slight shrug as he spoke. "Ever since I got here... I have always enjoyed the sunsets in the Seireitei. I'm not sure why... it just seems so much more, I don't know. Real." It must have been unusual for a woman to hear this fierce looking man ramble on and on about the sky and the sun setting. He took another swig of his gourd, assuming the girl may want some. He removed another from his Shinigami uniform.
Reaching out, the alcohol filled vessel softly clenched in his hand towards the new girl. "It's a new bottle... Just bought it. Feel free to have it, an old man like myself has no real need for so much." He spoke as he seemed deep in thought for a moment. "Have you... ever heard of a place called... Pearl Harbor?" he asked curiously pausing oddly, as if to remember. His eyes ever fixed upon the girl before him.

"Feel free to. It's a beautiful afternoon... I assume that's what you could call it. It's too early to call it night time I guess." he was right, it was just nearing night time. Aya preferred the moonlight than the daylight mainly because she hated sunburns and she heard from some of her noble fiends the sun would damage her beautiful skin back in her school days. She sat next to the man now watching the sunset. "I always love this view but nothing can be more beautiful then the moon." Aya loved to train under the moonlight for her zanpakuto would shine just as the moon would, her zanpakuto felt somehow very special to her.
"Ever since I got here... I have always enjoyed the sunsets in the Seireitei. I'm not sure why... it just seems so much more, I don't know. Real." he would continue. "Did he say since he got here? Did it mean he was not born in Seireitei or even Soul Society?" she was glad she met this man, maybe he will tell her something about the real world, it always interests her even though she already witnessed it with her own eyes. Strange was that this man also mentioned the word "Real". The man took another swing of his gourd and she could smell it. It was the smell of alcohol, something she did not have a chance to drink yet.
Her colleague removed another one from his shinigami robe and offered her to drink. "It's a new bottle... Just bought it. Feel free to have it, an old man like myself has no real need for so much.". She would be hesitant at first for she had seen her father and brothers drink some alcohol and act strangely afterward. At the end, her curiosity got to her and Aya would take a sip, she coughed a few times for it felt weird. "Have you... ever heard of a place called... Pearl Harbor?". "Hmmm was it perhaps a place in the real word? I've never head of such a place in Soul Society.". Aya was interested in his story so she gently shook her head "No. Never head of it."

The Shinigami chuckled as he watched the girl sip from the bottle. "Be careful, drink too much of this blend and it'll put hair on your chest." he mused as he himself took another gulp from his own Gourd. "Pearl Harbor... is the only place I've seen that is as beautiful as the Soul Society. It was also where I died. From what I heard after being bound there... That it started a massive war around the world." he said as he sat up from laying down upon the grass. "My airplane crashed into the harbor, right after I was able to truly appreciate being alive." He explained as he sighed. "I was bound there for three years. My Co-pilot was also there, his heart however, unlike mine. Was filled with hate, hatred from being passed by daily. Each day that passed was a nightmare for both of us. We never talked, I doubt he even knew of my existence, he was possessed with getting his saketsu off himself. His chain corroded completely and he transformed into a Hollow. A Shinigami saved me from being eaten by him and preformed a soul burial on me." He completed, in a haunting voice, almost as if he were speaking of something extremely taboo.
"That Hollow that tried to kill me was the embodiment of everything I hated about my government, everything I hated about my family... everything I had a distaste for. After that Shinigami destroyed it, it felt like I could. You know... truly live." He said, smiling once again, it still looked so odd for such a brutish looking man to smile, but that's just the type of person he was. The irony was thick, his one true chance to live... was in death. "How about you? Do you remember your past life?"

It seems he was watching her closely when she took a sip "Be careful, drink too much of this blend and it'll put hair on your chest." he before taking another gulp. She had no idea he did not mean it literally but rather as a joke and reacted with disgust "Eww, hair on my chest" while putting the bottle on the ground. The shinigami then began to speak of Pearl Harbor. "Pearl Harbor... is the only place I've seen that is as beautiful as the Soul Society. It was also where I died. From what I heard after being bound there... That it started a massive war around the world.". So he was from the real world indeed but shouldn't he remember his past? Aya did not know much about shinigami remembering their past but she once heard they do not. "There's something odd about him. Oh wait, what was his name?" without asking his name she just continued to listen to him because he was about to tell her how he died.
"My airplane crashed into the harbor, right after I was able to truly appreciate being alive." he said and sighed. "Oh my! That's horrible." she said while putting her hands on the upper part of her chest spreading fingers. She was wondering what an airplane was, it certainly had something to do with air but combined with plane, that didn't make sense. The shinigami continued with his story further revealing the horrible story of after-death and how he was saved by a shinigami. "Poor your Co-Pilot" she said but not knowing what that word meant, she just thought it could be something like a fellow worker or something. What was interesting is that this man hated the real world and liked it here more.
Soon the man would finish the story and it was now her turn right? "How about you? Do you remember your past life?". She was not born in the real world and never truly knew what it was really like. She always wanted to find out more though. Aya did not know whether she should tell him of her status but decided to tell him just enough, not revealing everything. "Well I wasn't born in the real world. I was born and raised here in Soul Society. I don't really know much about the real world but would like to find out some day." she sighed and sipped from the bottle again. Her face began to turn red and her head began to spin a little bit. Aya had no idea what that meant and didn't want to ask the man for she feared it would embarrass her.

"Born in the Seireitei? I had no clue that was possible. I thought everyone here died in the real world... My apologies for assuming you knew of such things in the Human world." he spoke, his head lowering slightly as he began to explain what an airplane was. "Shinigami... have no need for an Airplane... but when souls are in their human shells... they have no such ability. They dream of flight, some feel as though it is their destiny to fly amongst the stars." He paused for a moment. "I was one of those humans, long ago. But none of the past matters now. I look forward to the future now, dwelling upon the past... is not healthy." he continued as he sighed.
"If you'd like... I can take you to the real world. However... we can only travel to the most spiritual place on earth... Karakura town. I've heard of it, I'm sure you have also. I, however. Have never been there. it may be a learning experience if we both patrol there some time in the future." He smiled warmly. The girl... made him feel at peace like nothing else had before. Not in a love, or a lust... but she was simply calming, an aura of calmness surrounded him. "My name, is Kirema Takaheki of Division Six." He said, finally introducing himself to the girl.

He seemed to be really surprised at what she said earlier "Born in the Seireitei? I had no clue that was possible. I thought everyone here died in the real world... My apologies for assuming you knew of such things in the Human world." honestly she really wanted to know about the airplane and co-pilot but did not say it openly, though her eyes could tell him what she felt "Oh, don't worry about it." she waved her and gave him a mild smile as a reply. Aya wanted to sip the sake but then she remembered what it was doing to her earlier and stopped.
"Shinigami... have no need for an Airplane... but when souls are in their human shells... they have no such ability. They dream of flight, some feel as though it is their destiny to fly amongst the stars." so basically an airplane for them was just a tool to fly, she has to see that tool one day even though she did not want to fly, if she did she could just shunpo or something. "I was one of those humans, long ago. But none of the past matters now. I look forward to the future now, dwelling upon the past... is not healthy." the shinigami continued while she fixed her hair they would not obstruct her eyes.
It was getting really dark now, she could see the moon already. "What a nice view" she said again while playing with her hair. The shinigami was pretty cool she thought, he had a similar aura about him, just like her brothers. He would invite her to the real world some day, maybe if they get to patrol together. "Karakura Town" was the likely place they would get access to for it's spiritual richness which attracted the hollows. "Agreed" she would simply say to him, she wanted to see what the girls in the real world wear and possibly get some souvenirs back to Soul Society. There was a short pause and then he would finally introduce himself "My name, is Kirema Takaheki of Division Six.". "I am Aya Anzu, 13th division, just call me Aya. Nice to meet you. So I guess you like to uphold the law right?"

"Well Aya... It's nice to meet you." He said, smiling ear to ear, swirling his Sake within it's container. What came next caught his attention, she mentioned upholding the law. "Yes. I uphold the law in the Soul Society, without the law... it would be in utter, complete chaos." Looking down to his hand, still firmly gripping the sake. It formed almost a claw-like grip upon the dried gourd. " I suppose..." he began, slowly tightening his grip more and more until it began to crack. However, he did not hear anything as he continued. "Assuming the role of a law officer... I assume it's a way to make up for my own sins from my past life." he spoke, breaking his own word, saying that dwelling upon the past wouldn't be very healthy. His smile fell to a straight look upon his face.
The gourd suddenly shattered within his grasp, leaving a little under a quarter of the container of Sake to spill and mix with the shattered, dried out squash. Flashbacks slowly came back to him, the people he had killed in his past life due to his own ignorance. Taking a deep intake of breath, he held it for a moment before exhaling slowly, Calming himself in the process. Looking upon his hands in the dimming light of the evening, he watched as the light danced upon them in the liquid that covered his hands and the ground beneath him. Looking carelessly at it, he had a moment when he was all to himself before snapping back into reality. "I believe I should go back to my duties. Although I do hope that the Seireitei will be peaceful at all times... I really do doubt it will happen." He paused for a moment before finishing. "You can... however count on me to give you a crash course on the human world if we are assigned at the same time." He smiled once again before standing up and throwing his hooded robe on. "Would you like to accompany me as I patrol?" He said, with a smile upon his face once again as the moonlight shined down.

{How about we go to Karakura after this thread?} "Yes. I uphold the law in the Soul Society, without the law... it would be in utter, complete chaos." Kirema exclaimed, he was the upholder of law which is honorable, even her family recognized these kind of people. It seemed his sake was finished and hers was not, Aya grabbed the bottle and offered it to him "Thanks but I won't be able to drink it all.". Now everything was dark, the moon would shine high in the sky.
"Assuming the role of a law officer... I assume it's a way to make up for my own sins from my past life." he said while his gripped of the gourd tightened until it shattered, the liquid would leak out. The man was silent, Aya guessed he remembered something from his past, she did not know what to do in this situation. She left him alone to recover and he did in a while "I believe I should go back to my duties. Although I do hope that the Seireitei will be peaceful at all times... I really do doubt it will happen.". His face turned to normal again and offered her he would give her a crash course on the real world sometimes.
"Would you like to accompany me as I patrol?" he was on patrol? She had no idea but it sounds good. He would stand up and put his cloak on, even the hood. With the cloak on she was not sure she would recognize him as a shinigami otherwise. Aya would stand as well to patrol with him. "So, tell me something about your life in Soul Society. What happened when you came here."

"What happened here. Was that I found a family... like most other souls. Nothing too out of the ordinary other than the fact that one of my older 'brothers' we killed by a Hollow that somehow invaded the Seireitei." He spoke, accepting the gourd of liquor, pushing a cork back into it and placing it back into his robe. "I've had enough to drink for now. The one thing I've realized from living here for so long is waste not, want not." As h looked on to the girl as he began walking. Knowing the girl would follow him. "Tonight's my patrol in the world of the living, If you have nothing more to do tonight... How about about a little Karakura patrol? Take out some Hollows, look for some abnormalities. Same old Same old. Since you're from Division 13... I assume you're not... as well-versed in battle as myself and other Shinigami in battle divisions. Am I correct?"
His speech continued as the two entered the area where the Senkaimon stood before them. "Ah... The Senkaimon. Everything should be ready for us. I said I'd begin my patrol around the beginning of night, so everything should be ready for us to pass through." He said as a Hell Butterfly fluttered in front of him. "We have one more for patrol tonight it seems." He said, gesturing to Aya who was most likely beside him by now.

The man would continue with his life story, she was always interested at people who got the Soul Society, people who were not born from here "What happened here. Was that I found a family... like most other souls. Nothing too out of the ordinary other than the fact that one of my older 'brothers' we killed by a Hollow that somehow invaded the Seireitei." he would accept the gourd back saying he had enough already.
Am I correct?" it seems like a lucky night for her, the patrol could be exciting and she could use some adventure too. Agreeing with him, she would stand up "I am from the 13th division but I can handle myself." she would say while walking to the Senkaimon. A hells butterfly would reach them and she would follow Kirema though the Senkaimon to the real world.

Nodding, he would quickly open the gates with a thunderous creak, the passage would open as he looked behind him to Aya "Ready?" is all he would say before launching himself through the gate. Moments later, the pair were in the Dangai. The world between the Soul Society and the Human World. "Don't stop, not for ANYTHING. Hollows have been known to come through here by some means in the past." he yelled to behind her as he ran, assuming she was still behind him. "The passageway is stable, but not forever. In and out!" he shouted as he continued running, waiting for the light at the end of the tunnel, literally.
After a good amount of travel, they finally reached the end of the gate and were in the human world.

She was ready to go, Aya hoped her family would not mind if she did not return for today. Kirema would open the Seikamon gates and they would pass through. "Don't stop, not for ANYTHING. Hollows have been known to come through here by some means in the past." he did not need to tell her twice, she had heard the reports too. With a single movement of her feet, she stepped through the gates, it will not take long for them to arrive at their destination, Karakura Town. She would be excited upon arriving, thinking about the real world the whole time they traveled.
