Zanpakutou
Appearance: Ekirei, in its' unreleased state, looks like a standard Feudal-era Wakizashi. With 38 cms of the length, the shining silver weapon, blade polished to perfection, is singularly edged. The sword's guard is also fairly standard, appearing to be a black steel oval with dimensions only large enough to cover the hand when grasping the hilt. The hilt itself is also of a black color, matching both the locks of my hair as well as the guard. It is wound with a green ribbon, being the only bit of color aside from the sparkling silver of the blade to touch my weapon.
When Released, the sword shape vanishes. Coming from Hisaki's hand, the weapon will become a vibrant green neon line that encircles the Shinigami. Both as thick and sharp as Hisaki's normal Wakizashi blade, the weapon levitates around the Shinigami's body and begins about a meter around him.
Manifestation: The appearance of Ekirei is quite simply disturbing. A gargantuan locust, perhaps fifteen feet in height and twice that in length, with large pincers and insectoid wings is the spirit of the weapon. The creature reeks of disease, death, and decay, and seems to have the exact opposite mindset as Hisaki most of the time. The Zanpakutou's manifestation seems to enjoy seeing the spread of disease and sorrow amongst others. Its' voice, when it speaks, is very grating, akin to nails on a chalkboard, requiring a great amount of concentration and effort to keep the pain in check and understand the creature's conversation.
Inner World: Like the locust, the Inner World of the Shinigami's soul is very dark for someone whose goal in life it is to heal the world of every sickness, pain, and suffering. The endless aftermath of a battlefield is the Inner World, with swarming bugs and green clouds that hang suspended within the air, suffocating and toxic. All around, dead bodies lay in various states of decomposition, while the cries of those who have not yet to die taunt the boy into hasty and clumsy action as tests created by Ekirei's Manifestation.

Abilities:
- Shinsei - "Nova" - Rank 5 - Shinsei, or Nova, is the first technique of Hisaki's Zanpakutou, Ekirei. Upon hearing the command for its' release, Hisaki's Zanpakutou will begin to glow a bright neon green. The blade, then, will dissipate and become a glowing green line that encircles the Shinigami. The line, which is both as thick and as sharp as a blade, must always remain in a circular shape around the Shinigami, and begins standing about a meter away from Hisaki at the same height that Hisaki was holding the sword at. The circular "nova" can expand outwards a total of two meters for every rank that Hisaki has obtained, and moves at speeds based upon Hisaki's Kido specialty. It may also invert and rotate, so long as it is always in an even circular shape. It cannot even expand into an oval, it must remain in a circular shape. The weapon is naturally poisoned with something called "Numbing Agent", which removes the ability to feel with the area of impact while slowing down its' ability to move. Each turn, the poison will spread about an eight of an inch past the area of impact; however, the spread is multiplicative, meaning that the second turn that it is allowed to spread, it will spread 2/8 of an inch, for a total of 3/8 of an inch extra infected. On the fourth turn, it will spread 3/8, for a total of 6/8 of an inch, etc. This means that if poisoned by the blade, the opponent will need to either end the fight quickly, or else purge the poison from their system. At Rank 5, Ekirei can release a poison cloud once per thread, plus one for every two ranks past Rank 5 that Hisaki obtains, from the blade, spreading up to one foot, plus one foot for every 3 ranks that Hisaki obtains past Rank 5, from the blade. The poison, if inhaled, or if touching an open would, poisons the opponent with the same effect.
- Rank 7 - At Rank 7, Ekirei's Release gains an additional "nova" ring, allowing for two circular blades that orbit around Hisaki. The two blades can be controlled interdependently, meaning that they can move in different directions as willed by the Shinigami. Ekirei also gains a secondary poison, known as "Delirium Agent". The opposite of the Numbing Agent, this doubles the sensitivity of the area of impact, increasing all sensations felt at that location. When spread enough that it can infect an entire limb, the opponent, until they learn to judge their movements with their hypersensitive limb, will likely misjudge their movements and drastically overshoot their mark. In order to apply this poison, Hisaki must return any "nova" ring he wants to apply the poison to to its' original position.
- Rank 10 - At Rank 10, Ekirei's Release gains an additional "nova" ring, allowing for three circular blades that orbit around Hisaki. The three blades can be controlled interdependently, meaning that they can move in different directions as willed by the Shinigami. Ekirei also gains a third poison, known as "Atrophy Agent". The Atrophy Agent causes intense feelings of weakness in the area of impact, and spreads at the same speed as both Delirium and Numbing Agents. The weakness is very debilitating, making the young feel old, and the old feel ancient, and the ancient feel decrepit. In order to apply this poison, Hisaki must return any "nova" ring he wants to apply the poison to to its' original position.
- Rank 13 - At Rank 13, Ekirei's Release gains an additional "nova" ring, allowing for four circular blades that orbit around Hisaki. The four blades can be controlled interdependently, meaning that they can move in different directions as willed by the Shinigami. Ekirei also gains a fourth poison, known as "Deadly Agent". The Deadly Agent is a powerful poison that infects the opponent's body, causing intense fever, weakness, and nausea. In addition to this, the Deadly Agent steals from the opponent's store of reiatsu, utilizing it to increase the speed of the spread. By stealing 1% of the opponent's Reiatsu per turn, the Deadly Agent spreads at twice the speed of the other three poisons. In order to apply this poison, Hisaki must return any "nova" ring he wants to apply the poison to to its' original position.
