Name: Shiraga Azael
Age: 76
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 197 Pounds
Appearance:
((The lower half of his face is visible, its simply the angle in this picture))
Azael is very tan, and built in a very bulky, muscular way. His facial features are sharp, and intimidating. Pure, snow white hair adorns his head, which is generally kept short and often naturally forms itself into a fauxhawk-like style. He wears a single, silver, dangling earring in his left ear.
When not in the standard Shinigami uniform, Azael tends to dress very differently. A plain, white tank-top covers his torso alone, with a slight collar. This plainness is contrasted by both his gloves and pants. On his left arm is a single black armband around his bicep, and a long, leather, strapped glove. This glove reaches from his hand in a fingerless fashion, to the bottom of his bicep, and has a slight slit in both sides at its top. About the forearm are three leather straps, with silver buckles. On his right arm he wears plain, white wraps, which cover his hand (but not the fingers), and extends upwards to his mid-bicep.
About his waist, Azael adorns himself with a single, white ribbon, tied at his side, which hangs loosely. Slightly farther down, Azael wears multiple black belts, which all connect to the same buckle at the center of his pelvis. Black, slightly baggy pants drape down beneath this, which are tucked into similarilly black boots. Many black cloths hang loosely from his belts, and strap his sheath to his right side.
History: Murder is wrong. This was something Azael always understood. There are some things, however, that are simply unavoidable.
Azael grew up in Japan. From birth he was in danger, his family active members in the Yakuza, and living in Tokyo. Despite this environment, through his childhood Azael maintained a belief that murder was wrong, and attempted to avoid it whenever possible. Yet, he was forced to become a member of the Yakuza, and a dedicated one at that. Somehow, he was able to make it through a great many experiences, and he his ideals grew further and further away from what they once were. These dealt with, especially, the opposing Yakuza gang. Azael's side wore and drove only white, while the opposite used black.
The opposing gang was as ruthless as Azael's side, however, and through these experiences, Azael gained a nemesis or sorts. The boy was around his age, it seemed, named Tetsuya, and Azael's family made it a point that Azael target this boy.
During a frantic time, while Azael was around the age of ten, his father was lost to the opposing gang. While his father was, to Azael, in the wrong through the entire Yakuza situation he had put his family through, it was still his father. This simply pushed Azael over the edge, giving him no hesitation in killing any longer. Nonetheless, there was always an itching sensation in the back of his mind;
This is wrong.
Ignoring this, Azael rose in skill and status. By his 18th year of life, Azael had risen to become the top hitman on his side of the Yakuza-- and his 'mirror' had achieved the same status at nearly the same time.
At the age of 21, Azael found himself in a desperate situation. Atop a large skyscraper, he was faced with the opposing gang, lead by none other than Tetsuya. Many black and white cars surrounded the area as similarilly black and white garbed men lay in pools of crimson. However, this was the last Azael would have to deal with such gang events, as his own bullet buried itself in the skull of Tetsuya, so did Tetsuya's in his own.
All was black. As the light came flooding back into his fluttering eyes, Azael looked upon the world from a new perspective. Floating above Tokyo, a wave of guilt came over the chained soul. The anger from his fathers death had faded in but an instant, and all that remained was the guilt of all those he had murdered. This grief led to a prolonged stay as a soul upon earth, and Azael found himself attempting to escape Hollows on a daily basis. Generally, he was lucky as a Shinigami came to vanquish the Hollow. Not knowing what the Shinigami were, however, caused Azael to flee and hide, prolonging his stay even further. An interesting incident occurred, when, while fleeing from a Hollow, Azael was injured by the Hollow. As he was fading from existence, and on his way to a brutal Hollow transformation, a Shinigami appeared and a soul burial was performed. The feeling was a painful one-- as if being ripped nearly in half. Unknowingly, this had virtually happened. This sent his soul to Soul Society, allowing him to forget his past sins.
Azael reemerged into an unfamiliar place. Those that were about him were kind, and took him in, explaining what exactly was going on, and where he was. His need to eat seperated him from the rest, however, and upon the others finding this out, he was 'exiled' from their group. Eventually, he learned that this meant he had an unusually high reiatsu, or spiritual energy. At first, he was intimidated, and refused to attend the academy. In fact, he did not even approach Seireitei.
Until a Hollow attacked a group of souls living in Rukongai. A single Shinigami came to the rescue, and though the Hollow was stronger than most, the Shinigami emerged victorious. Within him, there was a sensation of unknown origin-- like guilt. It drove him to wish to protect others, and pushed him to enter Seireitei and attend the Shinigami Academy.
Tetsuya. That name echoed in a strangely familiar way, but Azael could not place his finger upon why. Despite this, this similarilly-aged attendee appeared in nearly all of Azael's classes. It was an odd relationship they shared, a type of friendship where Azael was simply not sure if the two were friends. A rivalry for sure, the two often competed and came out evenly overall. Each excelled in their own places, however.
Due to Azael's firm belief in justice and law, and a firm sense of what is good, the Shinigami was placed into the 6th Division. There, he sits upon the 20th seat, hoping to rise in power and skill further.

Zanpakutou
Appearance: In its sealed state, Amaterasu is a completely obsidian blade, including its hilt and handguard. Aside from this coloration, it is a generally standard katana, both in length and style. Its hilt is wrapped in a similarilly black wrap, which hangs down a small bit. The sheath is also black, with a small white bow near its top.
Manifestation:
Amaterasu takes the form of an apparently human woman, with a long, black mop, which falls in straight strands down to her calves. Upon her head rests a large, purple bow, with thin, red ribbons attached. Her complexion is pale, and she contrasts this with her makeup, which is of a deep red and orange about her eyes and mouth. Stern features plaster her face, sharp and intimidating.
A short, red and orange kimono adorns her body, which stops short, ending slightly longer in the back than in the front. The sleeves are long and very open, also falling almost lazily from her forearms. Intriquite designs of fire and plants embed themselves into the fabric. About her waist she wears three thick, plain, red belts, and around her waist is a very large, pink and lavendar bow, which is tied behind her back. Boasting an extremely long tachi, she keeps this on her person by strapping it to the pink garment about her bosom. This sword has a black hilt and guard, with a glinting silver blade. Its sheath is of a red-brown, with golden metal attached to its top, and a thin red rope falling decoratively from its edges, connecting to itself by wrapping around the sheath.
Beneath her kimono is a simple, black undergarment, which shows slightly where the kimono cuts off at its bottom. It has small, intriquite designs woven into it, and rests snug against her. White socks and thick, platformed sandals bind themselves to her feet.
Amaterasu is as she appears, stern and unforgiving. She is a very strict person, and believes that real progress only comes from hard work. In this, she will push Azael very hard. Nonetheless, she is also a very encouraging and understanding person. This attitude can be applied to anyone by her, and thus she is far from shy.
Despite her harsh nature, she understands when things go wrong, and that sometimes, a harsh attitude is unneeded. In these times, she can be very sincere, and come to Azael's aid in ways other than pushing him past him limits.
Her brother, Tsukiyomi, is a person she cannot forgive, and hates. In fact, she will not even speak of the reasons, and often simply pretends that the man does not exist. This is a prime example of her unforgiving attitude.
Inner World: Amaterasu's inner world is plagued by a malformed sun, who appears as a rather large, yellow ball, with thick, spiked protrusions jutting out at random. These are very defined, and the sun shows no "rays" of light. A single one of these 'spikes' takes its place in between two dark eyes as a 'nose', just above a mouth full of blunt, white teeth. The sky about this sun is very light, and blue, full of extremely fluffy looking clouds. Physically, the landscape is extremely rigid and mountain-like. There is a circular area that is clear at the center of the mountains, which is full of grass, and about 90 feet in diameter.
Release Phrase: Keimei umidasu, Amaterasu! ("Bring forth the dawn, Amaterasu!")
Abilities:
Tentou no Fuka ("Burden of Heaven" OR "Burden of the Sun")
Being a light based zanpaktou, Amaterasu manipulates the light upon her release to shikai. Utilizing the light in the area around Azael, Tentou no Fuka solidifies the light into the form of armor around Azael, along with a sword and shield. This armor is very durable and has the strength of steel at the beginning levels of shikai. This armor covers Azael's entire body, save for his head and joints, and even the areas of the armor which seem like cloth have the same durability as the rest of the armor, despite their flexibility and cloth-like appearance.
This is due to the light solidifying in a fashion which allows it to keep its fluidity. Azael has some control over the light which makes up his sword, armor, and shield, allowing him to manipulate it to a certain degree. This includes making the shield taller and narrower, allowing the sword to "whip" out much like a ribbon or a whip, and many more things. Due to being made of light, this armor does not slow Azael down.
((NOTE: Azael's physical appearance does not change (except for the addition of the armor). Meaning the person in the armor in the picture isn't Azael, and thus, please disregard the actual person.))

Inner Hollow
Appearance: Like all Inner Hollows, Aito looks very much the same as Azael, save for the standard differences, being entirely colors. Aito's skin is of a pure, snow white, and his eyes are yellow in coloration. His clothing, too, is almost entirely white, save for the lining on his pants and shirt. Additionally, there is a scar upon Aito's forehead. This lies in the same spot Azael took a bullet from Tetsuya, though Azael himself bears no such markings ((representative of emotional wounds/grievences/guilts)).
Mask Appearance:
(White and black in color, instead of black and orange)
Aito's mask is very standard for a Vaizard. It is white in color, with two, slightly wavey black stripes at its top right corner. The "teeth" are also black in color, and are long and uneven. They extend downards to the bottom of the mask, where the mask ends completely. Aside from this, the mask is very smooth.
