Appearance: Rei stands above the average height of most woman. With her slender form, peachy smooth skin and dangerously alluring lavender eyes, Rei looks more suited to be a model than a Shinigami. Dark purple locks with light orange ends once left loose now woven into an elegant looking bun with small bundles of hair hanging loosely. 2 flower bundle shaped pins and a single butterfly pin helps to keep her hair in place. A single small silver chain elegantly accessorizes her hair.
Like some Shinigami, Rei adorns a custom version of the Shinigami outfit. The white kosode is kept but the hakama and short kimono have been traded in for a full length black kimono. The kimono is much longer than normal, causing the back to slide across the floor and the sleeves to stretch down to the ankles. Around her waist, Rei has traded in the sash for a white traditional female obi. Worn on her feet a pair of white tabi socks and straw zori's. When wearing this outfit, Rei's zanpakuto is placed within her obi. The hilt is the only part usually seen.
Unlike most shinigami, Rei has another set of clothing she usually adorns. Just like the other outfit, this one is also a kimono. Underneath, the usual white kosode is traded for a red kosode with black trimmings. The kimono, the same long length as her other outfit, an array of colors. The red, blue and teal kimono worn not on her shoulders, but instead allowed to loosely fall and hang around the upper area of her arms. Decorating the kimono are pictures of flowers and plants of various natures though all originate from the country of Japan.
A larger than normal obi tied around her waist decorated with patches of purple and orange. The obi ends in a largely tied ribbon at the back of her waist. Inserted into the knot of the obi, a flower bundle pin like the ones that adorn her head. Placed within that flower pin, a lone butterfly pin like the one that is also placed within her hair. Unchanged, she adorns white tabi socks and straw zori's upon her feet. A single silver chain is tied around her waist and allowed to hang loosely on her kimono. Rei's Zanpakuto is once again held within her obi where the hilt is the only visible part.
There are times where Rei adorns an outfit veering from her usual style. What she wears is an outfit she picked up in the human world, a suit. Worn on her upper half is a white dress shirt,a dark purple waistcoat, as well as a single breasted jacket in the same color. Worn on her collar, a dark red necktie. Rei leaves her jacket unbuttoned and loose. On her bottom half, Rei adorns a pair of trousers the same color as the jacket. A pair of white socks and dark purple stiletto's. As well as a black belt around her waist where her Zanpakuto is held snugly. When adorning this outfit, Rei does not put her hair into a bun. Instead, she lets it loose where it extends down to her waist. She will also wear a pair of square rimmed glasses when wearing this outfit.
History:A mother who lost everything...
It is the Edo peroid of Japan. Life is blooming and the one known as Rei is still alive. Born into a family of neither high or lower class, she lived her days happily. At the coming age of 19, Rei is placed into an arranged marriage by her mother. Her fiance, the son of a wealthy trade family was a kind man. At first, Rei did not love this man. She resented her mother for arranging such a marriage. However, it was during one cold night, both she and her husband were returning from dinner at a local restaurant. All of a sudden, a man attacked from the shadows. During the midst of the chaos, Rei's husband was stabbed and on the verge of death. The stab which was aimed at Rei, had been taken by her husband as he used his body as a shield.
Rushed to the local doctors house, her husbands life was no longer in immediate danger. It was during this night, her husband shared with her a story. The story of how the son of a wealthy trader spied upon a girl of the middle class. Everyday he watched her as she performed chores and cared for her sick mother. He told of how at first sight, he was in love with this woman. He did not care for her name, she was simply the most beautiful thing he had ever lay his eyes on. This story, brought the first true tears of joy to Rei's eyes. This was the story of her husband, of how he forced his parents to arrange a marriage. Of how he told Rei's mother of the love he had for her daughter.
This was the first time, Rei truly loved her husband. He loved her so, that he was willing to risk his own life for hers. As days and months passed by, Rei grew more and more in love with her husband. Never before had she taken the time to understand the man she married. After taking the time, she realized that she had loved him. All this time, she had loved him but never realized it. Those years he watched her, she watched him watching her. It was an odd love that started from a stalking.
Years passed and Rei bore her first born child, a boy. A few years later, she bore yet another child, a girl this time. She lived her days happily with her husband and 2 kids. However, the times would begin to change. The world began to be consumed by evil. Her husband's family had lost their trading company due to corrupt business partners. Forced into a life of poverty, she and her family struggled to survive. Her husband worked multiple jobs just to support his family. However, even though they lived in poverty, they were happy. As long as they lived together as a family, Rei was happy with that. She did not care for fancy things or big houses. She just wished to live forever with her family.
Fate however, would not allow this. One night, as the family was having their dinner, evil consumed their lives. A band of bandits raided the village. In all the midst, Rei was knocked unconscious and would not regain consciousness for a little while. Upon awakening, Rei discovered the worst thing possible. The first things she lay her eyes upon were the dead bodies of her family. Her husband, son and baby daughter lay dead on the floor as their house burned. However, Rei would not even have the chance to hug her families dead bodies as a group of bandits would capture her.
That night, over and over Rei was raped by these savages. However, the entire incident did not register in her mind. The sight of her family dead had already caused her mind emotions to shut off. Her mind no longer caring for this world and was glad it finally ended as the bandits plunged their sword through her heart. The woman know as Rei was dead, and as her soul moved unto the next world, darkness once again consumed her.
As her soul was being remade in the world of Soul Society, she was born in the area of Rukongai. Rei's mind was no longer the same. Though technically she was dead, Rei felt truly dead inside. She no longer cared about her decisions. If she negated certain realities she could forget. Negating the fact her family died, negating the fact she was raped over and over and finally killed. Rei was able to move on but for what purpose?
As she lived her days in Rukongai for almost 120 years, it was by chance she was discovered to possess reiatsu. A Shinigami had come into town, where his uncontrolled reiatsu caused Rei to black out. Shocked at the occurrence, the Shinigami took her to Seireitei where they discovered she had the latent ability to become a Shinigami. Enrolled in the academy, Rei attended the classes. Amazingly, even in her state of mind, Rei was able to graduate from the academy and placed into the 3rd division.

Appearance: Unreleased: In its unreleased form, Tenraisōu takes the form of a simple wakizashi. Tenraisōu measures 60.6 cm [24 Inches] with a blade measuring 47.975 cm [19 inches] and a hilt measuring 12.625 cm [5 inches]. The Tsuka [Hilt] is wrapped in purple traditional silk. The pommel is made of a gold colored metal, as well as the Tsuba [Guard]. The gold colored metal does not shine like most metals, giving it a more faded look. The Tsuba takes a circular shape like any ordinary katana. The blade possesses the cutting edge and curved blade like all traditional wakizashi's.
Released: In its released form, Tenraisōu does not actually transform. Instead, it simply opens a door to 2 motions. These motions being the extending and retracting of the blade. Once the release phrase has been said, Tenraisōu shines brightly before its blade extends into the distance. Traveling at quite a formidable speed, the blade packs quite a large amount of force upon contact. As the blade is capable of extending, it is also capable of retracting. This allows Tenraisōu to take upon the length of any type of blade. Rei can also sustain the length of the blade, allowing her to swing Tenraisōu in large wide arcs.
Manifestation: Despite the name, Tenraisōu is actually a female blade. Taking the form of a young girl about half Rei's size, she possesses a personality similar to Rei. As Rei takes a nihilistic outlook on life, Tenraisōu see's it in a more sad and negative way. She does not care much for the real world and is mainly classified as some who is "Emo". However, because of this, Rei and Tenraisōu are easily able to get along. Though they sometimes tend to argue, their arguments seem more like normal calm debating.
Unlike her name, Tenraisōu does not look "Divine" in anyway. Long, unhindered pitch black hair extending down to the waist adorns her crown. Possessing large dark red eyes and paleish skin, she has the look of a demon child. Like Rei, Tenraisōu also adorns a kimono as her usual attire. However, unlike Rei's bright colorful kimono, her's is a single dark black color. Around her waist she wears a 3 layer obi, 2 layers dark red while the last a dark black like the rest of her kimono. The only bright piece of clothing she possesses, is a pair of white tabi socks. But that is where it ends as she adorns a pair of dark red and black zori's.
Inner World: The inner world where Rei and Tenraisōu usually converse, is an odd one indeed. Within this plane of existence, only 4 entities exist. These 4 manifestations do not include either Rei nor Tenraisōu. The first of four is a bright red moon floating in the sky above. The second, patches of red and white that traverse the sky. These patches of red and black, are what everyone knows as clouds. The third is shadows, though no ordinary shadows. Instead of their usual black color, the shadows in this world are red like the moon floating above. The last and most abundant, is darkness. As far as the eye can see, no matter which direction you look besides up, all there seems to be is more and more darkness. One could walk for days and days though it would seem like you have yet to move at all. This is however false as you have indeed moved from your original position. The reason it seems like one has not moved at all is due to every single inch of this world being exactly the same.
