As of late, Ferus has been growing increasingly powerful. Like your average Hollow, he has been devouring souls and getting into conflicts, but Ferus has been eating souls of a much different caliber. His first encounter with a more powerful soul would be in first run-in with a Shinigami. During his normal raids through Karakura, he was confronted by a low-ranking Shinigami on patrol and sent to battle low-level Hollows. Unfortunately for him, Ferus was much more powerful than he had imagined. The battle didn't last more than a few minutes, Ferus played it defensive through most of the bout and gave the illusion he was a slow, clumsy beast. And when the Shinigami's guard was down, he struck a fatal blow. He completely mauled the man to pieces, and after a few moments of sinister laughter he would devour his soul - such would change his outlook on feeding forever. It was the most delicious, and the most powerful soul he'd ever tasted. It was as if the soul itself had strengthened him (which it did).
The most recent incident would be his run-in with not one, but two attackers. The first was but a Human seemingly gifted with spiritual powers, but the second was a shinigami, although he was mixed with something he couldn't quite put his finger on. It was almost as if the shinigami was part Hollow, but Ferus shook that off as being ridiculous. The battle didn't take long for Ferus, although only the shinigami would fall at his hands. Another Hollow would interrupt his fight and claimed the body of the human, whereas Ferus would devour the stronger soul. It was incredibly satisfying, and the soul itself was even more powerful than the first shinigami he had eaten. The soul strengthened the Hollow even further, and it was as if the power of the soul had carried him to a whole new level of strength. He could feel it, and soon found out he could develop a brand new power, and even found himself more aware of his surroundings. Whatever it may be, that was the moment he realized he had grown.
