During the entry point into the Gotei 13 I’ve found it rather ‘extreme’ and that is a light explanation. For the first time ever, I encountered a hollow that threatened my life, and the life of comrades. Had I cared for these comrades? Eh, somewhat but this had been the first real life threatening battle I had encountered against a hollow and because of such, it made me want to become stronger. I wanted to become stronger because even I could see that this battle with that hollow was one sided. I was able to get a shot in, but at the expense of losing one of the two comrades.

I pushed myself beyond the limit for me; I made sure the next time I were to face a hollow, the battle would not appear one sided. So in turn, I guess I should thank this hollow if I were to ever run into it again, as that very hollow had made me realize just how real this Shinigami crap is; just how threatening a hollow is and just how tough it really is to live as a Shinigami; especially one that goes into the real world often.
